When I choose a cigar to review, I try to pick sticks that are easily accessible to the entire cigar smoking community but sometimes exceptions need to be made, especially when it is a cigar that the readers are asking for. The Espinosa Elite Member Exclusive 2020 fits the bill. It’s only available to Espinosa Elite members (more on that to come) and after my first review of the Alpha Dawg I posted a poll in one of the cigar groups I’m in to see what I should review next, and the Member Exclusive won handily.

So, before I get into the cigar, let me fill you guys in on Espinosa Elite. If you are not a member, Espinosa Elite is a cigar club setup by the guys at Espinosa for their most loyal customers. For a yearly fee, you get 30 cigars and other company related swag over the course of the year. Typically, the cigars are either blends that Espinosa wants feedback on for later release or repackaging of classic Espinosa blends. Some of the swag that comes with the cigars are challenge coins, hats and t-shirts.

Now let’s get into this years first installment of this year’s member exclusive. This cigar falls into the category of a test blend and doesn’t have an official name, though due to its strength and flavor pop, a good nickname would be the Boom Stick! Despite my best efforts, the guys at Espinosa wouldn’t come off of any of the blend details so I cannot speak to what the ingredients are, though my personal opinion it has the flavor profiles similar to the original Bunker Buster and Espinosa 20TH Anniversary with the strength of a 601 La Bomba.

In the first third, the Member Exclusive punches you in the mouth with an insane amount of spice and earthiness and a retrohale that burns the nostril in such a good way. As you get into the first third the flavors meld into an intense spice and woodsy flavor that is very unique, yet very pleasurable. Not at all suitable for a first cigar of the day, but definitely great for an after-dinner smoke while enjoying your favorite beverage.

The second third of the cigar smooths out to a very flavor full experience that has hints of spice to it. The Member Exclusive is very full bodied and packs a complex flavor punch not found in most cigars. The construction is excellent as well, with and effortless draw and near perfect burn.

The final third sees a smooth, creamy sweet flavor with hints of spice and earth. Overall, the Member Exclusive, AKA The Boom Stick, is an extremely strong, complex cigar, hitting spicy, creamy and earthy on the Palate wheel. The full flavored and bodied does not disappoint at all and the near perfect construction will have even the most discerning connoisseur pleased. Unfortunately, at this point the cigar being exclusive to Espinosa Elite members, it is not yet available to the public, but stay tuned we may see it in the near future.
