Their path appeared smooth. A generous sum of USD 1200 greased the wheels with an immigration officer, and in less than a week, they held all the necessary documents to set up their business. Profits flowed effortlessly, with over 2 million Cedis earned in just three months.

However, their dreams came crashing down when government officials arrived one fateful morning, demanding licenses and documentation. With a smile, they handed over the papers, unaware that their life was about to take an unexpected turn. It turned out, that every document they possessed was a counterfeit. Handcuffed and bewildered, they found themselves behind bars, facing charges of forgery, unauthorized production, and overstaying their welcome in Namibia.

Within the confines of a Namibian prison, they encountered a mosaic of Ghanaian faces, each with their own story of misfortune. Among them, a shocking revelation unfolded - a striking Namibian woman, imprisoned for the gravest of crimes: murder.

Inside the prison walls, where beds were stacked in a communal dormitory, there was no hierarchy. Our storyteller selected the upper bunk for a better vantage point. Their cellmate, the Namibian lady, became their confidante and partner in navigating the intricacies of prison life.

Desperation for better living conditions and nourishment eventually led them to make an unexpected choice. They joined their cellmate in a secret rendezvous with a high-ranking officer, who promised improved treatment and a coveted spot in the VIP prison quarters.

Venturing into the forbidden precincts of the prison, they discovered an air-conditioned room, luxurious beds, and a taste of the high life. In exchange for a modest sum of Namibian shillings, they experienced a night of opulence amidst the bleakness of incarceration.
