Whether you have two left hands, whether you've never touched a hammer or a screwdriver in your life, tinkering is now within everyone's reach! For some time now, the expansion of DIY (literally Do It Yourself) has affected practically all men, beginners or experienced in DIY, who want to get their hands dirty and do everything on their own. With tons of tutorials and explanatory videos abounding on the net, it is therefore now possible to overcome any DIY chore, while saving money. Here are some examples of things you can do yourself!

Repaint all kinds of surfaces

From the walls to the ceilings, this ugly and very old painting has been bothering you for a few years already? Or are you simply tired of the new paint you chose a few months ago? Do not be afraid to take the brushes and turn everything upside down again, since painting yourself is really easy these days. Wash your walls or ceilings, protect your furniture and floor, patch and fix surface imperfections and get started! No need to call on an expert painter in the field, you just have to choose a new color and start the job (don't forget to apply an undercoat if the surface has never been painted!).

Change windows and front doors

You can also go bigger and completely change your front doors or windows! Ok, the work to be done may seem impressive. But with good tutorials and a good dose of courage, it is quite possible to achieve the thing, because the pose is much simpler than it seems! Buying windows and front doors online is a really quick way to do this, and you have the choice between different materials, from pvc to wood, to aluminum! The front door is the most important element of a house, since it is through it that we enter or leave the home. In addition to its design and aesthetics, you will also need to opt for an entrance door that insulates effectively and offers perfect protection against break-ins!

Renovate or create furniture

Once your front door has been changed, it will also be possible to create or renovate your old furniture that really looks dirty. A little sander and then a coat of paint for wooden furniture is thus a very easily achievable operation. Otherwise, put your creativity to the test by creating new furniture altogether! Whatever your desires, give free rein to your imagination and give it a try. For example, at Gentleman Moderne we had produced a short guide to creating furniture with pallets. An achievement that is always in fashion!

Redo your floors

Laying of parquet floors, laying of tiles, carpeting, laminate etc etc. A new floor and your entire interior is given a new lease of life! However, here too, the method can seem anxiety-provoking, because an average French person changes floors about once every 18 years! It is therefore time to lower this average by putting aside its fears. By watching a few learning videos and asking some well-informed advice from regulars of the genre, you can then transform your floors all by yourself. Practical and economical!

Transform your garden

Finally, for the lucky ones who have a small corner of greenery or a small terrace, you can do your own thing to completely change the look of your exterior! Changing gates, fences, laying cobblestones and borders, installing a terrace and a small pergola, everything is now possible and accessible! Outdoor jobs are often easy, and they simply require a lot of energy to complete. An easily surmountable obstacle when you want to do everything on your own!

Whether it's painting, creating and customizing furniture, changing the garden, or more important DIY with a new front door, for example, don't be afraid to tackle all the work you need. you were dreaming!
