Thimble has been in use since decades because of the sewing techniques. Sewing has never gone out of fashion. There is a thing with the sewing machines that while being overworked and sewing very rapidly, fingers might get hurt. There have been times when fingers used to get pricked. In previous times, people used to wear caps in shape of fingers.

The thimble I am trying to talk about is from 17th century and they have been made in the figure of a finger so that it helps the people while sewing. Something which have been talk of the town is collecting antique items and keeping them for personal use which look royal as well. That is why, Antique Victorian Art Nouveau 14K Thimble Simon Bros was kept for sale.

Even in the description the seller has clearly mentioned that it is from pre-1930 and is original as well. There could be a doubt with the originality of the thimble but it has been clearly mentioned that it is from late Victorian period which was in c1900. Other than that, it also feels antique when you feel and see the thimble.

It was very honorably made by Simon Bros. The thought to change the design and get into the spirit of making everything easy for the people who are into sewing changed basically everything. Because, the earlier thimbles used to be in a shape which were not comfortable to wear and could hurt even more. Simon Bros got the idea to curve the edge so that thimbles protect the finger.

The material this particular thimble is made up with is 14K yellow gold. This is the reason it is expensive as well. During that time, it was very common for arts man to create things from valuable stones. That is why, the thimble is heavy as well. The weight is approximately as mentioned in description is 2.6 grams. The weight is a little bit heavy but can be used without any difficulty.

The measurement of the thimble is 14.87 mm tall and is approximately 17.5 mm wide. The size is big enough for any free size finger to fit in comfortably. Although there is a specific size as well which is also mentioned to be 6 in today’s times. So, if you have been using a thimble you can get a better idea to it. So, if you have been using a thimble you can get a better idea to it. Whereas, these things are made in such a manner that they can be used by anyone.

The monogram of the thimble is not deep enough and that is why it can be polished without any difficulty. Seller is honest enough, that is why he has also mentioned the pinpoint dent on the side. The dent is not visible either. If you talk about working, it won’t bother that as well.

The built of the thimble is so strong that it makes it attractive to look as well. It has that honeycomb structure which protects well enough as well. But, other than that the major feature of this thimble is the vintage look of it which makes it to stand out of any other normal looking.

But, these antique things can come in very expensive and are very rare to get as well. That is why when gotten an opportunity, it is an achievement to get one. Places like eBay have become very old to buy things for, the new trend is to search for new websites and one of them is Truegether.
