Add to cart? Not to do so is a Challenge!
Big Brother is listening to you and then he serves up just what you’re looking for.
Ok I’m going to have to admit it, I’m a real shocker... I respond like Pavlov’s dog to the targeted ads that pop up almost eerily on Social Media, after I’ve just had a chat about, or I swear, even just though about something.
I really think am the advertiser’s dream. I doubt however I’m alone in that. There’s a lot of us out there! Of course Covid did much to ramp up everyone’s online shopping habits.. we were also planning our “adds to cart” as well as being seduced by just what we needed popping up on our newsfeeds. However I have found that apart from some clip in teeth( that was SO embarrassing and on another level hilarious, and no I’m not showing you ) I’ve done pretty well with my “impulse” “add to cart” buys.
Here are a few 2020/21 purchases that I’m actually pretty happy with, and they happened to pop up on my Facebook feed or Instagram account just when the need, the want to be more accurate I guess, was discussed or even just thought about.
My most recent and rather loved purchase (see photo above)was from a company I’ve never heard of, the Ramindong Hair Curler ... does what it says on the box, pretty efficiently .. and safely. It’s simple to use and safe enough for a child to operate. All the heated parts are safely enclosed. I’m hopeless at doing my hair but this little cordless wand ( it charges via a small USB port) does the business even for a styling klutz like me.
Another purchase I absolutely love and have gone back to multiple times is TLM colour changing foundation. (See above) It suits a wide range of skin tones ... and lasts for hours. It’s gentle on your skin. It’s bizarre that it is white when it is first applied but it morphs to your exact skin tone, covers up nasties and gives a lovely finish. I don’t know if it works on very dark tones but has worked well on my friends with darker Hispanic skin and Asian colouring, as well as this olive skinned Scot. It’s formulated for all skin types including sensitive.. and despite looking quite uninspiring when it first leaves the bottle, it would appear that it does live up to the hype. There’s not enough in each bottle but that would be my only beef.
Clothing is a bit more of a tricky prospect.. I would deem myself a size medium but with certain websites I know I’m going to be an XL. I’ve been cautious with clothes that I’m not receiving from local stores. I’ve seen the horror stories! However I really loved my super colourful t shirts from zisales that maybe came from China, I ordered a size large and it was ok. I would recommend these shirts as they are of decent quality and are well made.
Apart from acting and writing ..another activity I enjoy is designing posters. I am therefore going to be a easy mark for art materials. I am always and I mean ALWAYS going to be suckered into buying PENS. I create colorful artworks using gel pens. I would say that in general these pens don’t have the longest of lives... well not once I get going ...they get frequently used. They help me create my hippy trippy artworks!
These are only Four impulse buys that I’m particularly happy with. It’s all rather “Big Brother is watching you” but hey you ask ... and there it is. The Technological Universe delivers. That’s not too bad.
