8 Ways to Make Money Quick

And are totally legal.

If you're in college or just have a crappy job that leaves you barely getting by each month... here are a few things that I have done to make ends meet:

1. If you are like me, I am sure you have a closet full of clothing that you grew out of your freshman year of high school, but you convince yourself that you shouldn't get rid of because "You might need it one day." Trust me, you won't. For immediate cash, stop by Plato's Closet. They take clothing, shoes, and bags as long as they are still in style and in good shape (so no holes, rips, or stains). This is something I do at least once a year.

2. If you can stand to wait a while, try Mercari. On this app, I have sold clothes, shoes, books, phone cases, purses, jewelry, makeup that I never even opened, etc. You choose your own prices and will probably get more than if you were to bring them to Plato's Closet. The downside of this is that it is not always a guaranteed sell, and if it does sell, it could take anywhere from a couple hours to a couple months for someone to buy it. However, the better quality the picture, the more likely to sell.

3. If you have the time and you are an animal lover, try Wag. Wag is a website/app that allows you to sign up as a dog walker. The only things they require are a good attitude, basic knowledge of animals, and the ability to walk for hours at a time. It is easy money and great exercise!

4. If you love kids, animals, or are just looking for other little jobs, try Care.com. You are matched with people who are looking for nannies (full and part time), babysitters, animal sitters and walkers, people to get their groceries, people to help them move, and other little jobs to help ends meet. If you are looking to receive one of the more serious jobs like a nanny, get your family and friends to write you good reviews and people are more likely to hire you. The best part about this is that you are able to see how much someone would pay you before-hand, and you can work as little or as much as you want.

5. If you happen to have any gold jewelry that you don't wear, try selling it. Websites will send you the prepaid labels for free and then give you a quote as soon as they receive it. If you don't think that what they are offering you is enough, you can decline and they will send it back to you. If you need the cash instantly, try stopping in one of the stores. I have always gotten great deals, and it is very quick money.

6. If you have old electronics, try selling them. Gazelle takes your old phones and tablets even if they don't work. The process is very similar to if you were to sell your gold online. The better the condition your items are in, the more money you get.

7. If you have old books that you no longer read or college textbooks from past semesters, you can sell them online. This is great to receive money back on those $200 history textbooks that you will never use again.

8. In the past I would do everything in my power to not get coins back and would throw them away rather than leaving them in my purse. Recently, I collected all of the coins in my car and purse and started saving them. Now I have more than $100 dollars in coins saved up and ready to be cashed in the next time I need a little extra money.

And if after all of this you still cannot afford to pay rent... you need a new job.
