5 Things to Help You Get Through the Day

Thinking of tomorrow doesn’t always cut it for everyone.

By Tyler RideoutPublished 6 years ago 2 min read

The worst part of the day is when you think to yourself, “When is this going to end?” “What time is it?” Or even “I can’t wait for tomorrow!” Because then all you're thinking of is the next day, the next task, or the worst, looking at the clock a hundred times just to see that a half hour passes.

1. Find something to distract you but not too much.

There are tons of things to do including: chew gum, get a fidget box (only like 3 or 4 dollars online), or listen to music; the possibilities are endless! Whatever you do, remember to not let it distract you from the everyday things you need to do. These are important because even when your bored you need a schedule. It give life some balance which is nice because nobody wants to waste all their time.

2. Get a hobby.

Sometimes to make yourself busy is to start something that takes effort, like a hobby. This could include anything that really makes you happy while doing it; like collecting things, going for hikes, painting, working out, or even writing stories. Anything you do just try not to disturb anyone or anything while doing your hobby because if it’s okay with everyone, then you can do it without bother!

3. Learn something new.

This can be anything, like, literally anything. Just turn on your computer, phone, laptop, even open a book, and start to read about anything you wish to learn. There are languages, cultures, traditions, or even mythology; and that stuff is endless! We, right now, have the most knowledge in our arms reach than any person ever in history; and many don’t take advantage of the resources we have. So, start to learn something!

4. Go out and do something.

There is usually something to go do out in town, if there isn’t in your town, then I’m sorry and that’s exactly like my hometown (Hope, BC), but you might need to just skip this one. For those of you in a city, if you're inside doing nothing all the time, seriously think of the things you could do including: going out to eat, the park, a movie, or anything really. Some people, as I said at the start, have nothing to do in their towns, and it really does suck; I know the feeling.

5. Netflix

This is for you guys who live in remote towns or even just don’t have the funds; and this isn’t a bad thing I know the feeling. My town was complete dump and nothing to do except school or work (and that work only came in the summer because we were what you call a “tourist town”). There are many shows, movies, documentaries, and anime; and these are updated almost every month. So, Netflix isn’t the worst I watch it at least 2 or more hours a day , so don’t sweat it, watch a marathon!

I hope this article helped you in any way, have it be give you an idea, new hobbie, thing to do, or just something to read on the toilet! But have a great day and hope good times find you all!
