5 Apps to Make You Money Just From Your Groceries

If you’re anything like me, you have a wallet or purse full of receipts. Well, it’s time to finally do something with them! Here are five different apps that will earn you back money from your groceries.

Ibotta

You’ve most likely heard of Ibotta. They’ve made it increasingly easy to earn through their app! With the addition of online stores—including Amazon—and always changing brands for rebates, it’s a really great way to make money back from your groceries! All you have to do is pick the items that are on your receipt, scan your receipt, make sure it automatically selects the right items, and earn your rewards! Alternatively, you can make a shopping list within Ibotta to make sure you’re getting things that qualify while you’re shopping.

Receipt Hogs

Receipt Hogs is far simpler than all the other grocery apps. All you have to do is scan your receipts to earn points! It doesn’t even have to be a grocery receipt. Receipts from most stores will earn you points and cash back. With each week of the month that you scan a receipt, you’ll get a certain number of bonus spins to earn more points and cash out faster. You can cash out at $5 to PayPal or Amazon!

Checkout 51

Checkout 51 is a lot like Ibotta. It’s come a long way since I first came across it. It offers rebates for many different grocery items as well as home and personal care items. Some are any brand, others brand specific. They also offer special bonuses for a variety of things, some as simple as shopping at a certain store! Cash out is $20 via check or PayPal. To earn your rewards, you go through the same routine as Ibotta.

SavingStar

SavingStar works in a couple ways. Some offers are if you just buy this one particular item. Other offers are if you spend $20 on a certain brand or the items listed. This way can be a little trickier since you can only claim the reward in one trip, not spread out over multiple trips. The bonus, though—you can cash out after just $5. SavingStar also operates much the same as Ibotta does.

FetchRewards

FetchRewards is another simple one! Earn points for just buying certain brands! They also offer extra points for buying certain items from that brand. You get bonus points just for uploading your receipt. FetchRewards makes things much simpler, though. It’s not necessary to go through and select all the brands you bought or plan on buying. It does all that work for you and scans your receipt for everything. You do have the option of adding things to their version of a grocery list. They’ve really made it easy; and the best part, you can cash out with a variety of different gift card options starting at $1.

These can be used with other coupons, as well. There are a lot of savings you can really cash in on! If you don’t like to coupon (or are like me and don’t like the hassle of paper coupons), these apps are a very handy alternative. It is worth it to look through all the apps. Sometimes you’ll find different brands and better deals tucked away in another one of the apps!
