So around Christmas time or birthday time, there is always that loved one that is either very hard to shop for or they are picky and will more than likely turn their nose up at whatever you give them. And when you ask them what do they want, it's like picking teeth to get it out of them that you just want to rip your hair out. I have a couple of those in my family and have devised ways to get them something for Christmas or birthday and save myself the headache and make them happy. I am also the same way once it comes to gifts so these tips are coming from a picky one. So here are a few tips and hopefully one of these will help you out on birthdays and holidays!

Gift cards are their best friend!

One of the things that will majorly come to the rescue is gift cards especially if you know what stores that person likes. A lot of stores offer gift cards nowadays so it's pretty easy to go get a gift card from their favorite store. That way they can go to the store and get whatever they want and they don't turn their nose up at whatever you get them for Christmas. The downside to gift cards, though, is that they are normally tied down to one store. You can also give them gift cards from Walmart or Target where they pretty much have everything. The last thing you want is to have the person get mad at you because the gift card you gave them is only valid in one store. So always have backup plan once it comes to gift cards.

Cash never fails!

Or if you're not feeling up to going to the store to get gift cards you can just hand them plain old cash. This option is great for those who have a bit of cash to spare. This gift allows the receiver to pretty much get whatever they want at whatever store they want. You're happy, they're happy, and you don't get a headache. Just a tip: this is a wonderful present for college students who are pretty much broke all the time or young adults who have no clue what the heck they are doing and need a little guidance and assistance. Financial assistance, that is.

Have them pick out what they want!

This option is best for a child who is very picky and peculiar. My mother did this with me when I was a kid. Take your child to the toy store or Walmart and have them pick out what they want. If you're on a budget, give them a set limit. This way they know how much they can get but at the same time it also teaches them financial responsibility. To get the best bang for your buck, go to Walmart. They have all kinds of stuff there and they have them at a good price too. Now if you can afford stuff from F.A.O Schwartz, be my guest and take your little one there. If not, Walmart is your best bet, or Target.

Get them something you know they'll be happy with!

Okay, so if you don't want to do anything above my last suggestion is just get them something that you know they will love. For example, me. I like makeup. Now normally in the past, I've been picky in the quality of the makeup I receive. But due to financial reasons, I've had to buy lower quality makeup which is okay because it looks the same. I've gotten high quality makeup and drugstore makeup over the years and I'm happy with what I get when people get me makeup.
