Writers and readers are complementary to each other.

If there are no readers for whom writers will write and if writers don’t write the reader category won’t exist.

So the existence of readers depends on writers.

Basically, a writer is always a good reader initially, and then based on his narration talent he starts writing.

If one sits to prepare a list of types of readers he may need a whole rim of papers.

To understand why the reader must be engaging, first, we must know what is reader engagement?

Readers get a lot of information and stories from what he reads.

They enjoy or get pleasure from reading.

They get some motivation or ideas for their further plans of what they thought.

They relate the writing with themselves and help to improve upon their weaknesses.

They get inspired by what they read and follow the writer.

These are very common points of readers liking to read.

However, there may be other things that can make the reason for their reading.

We start reading from our childhood and the type changes as per need.

In school and college, we concentrate on reading and learning study material.

Post-education the frequency decreases but routine reading through newspapers continues.

Writer and reader have some invisible bond between them and it has no limit of geographical boundaries.

A person at one end of the world might like the writing of a person at the other end of the world.

The connection of thoughts combines them invisibly.

Readers make writers but there are some writers, who, with their unique style and language give rise to new readers.

A real powerful write is one who does not depend upon the readers but creates his own audience.

So the equation is reversible here.

The readers who read for pleasure generate a large reader’s community as they spread positivity among other people.

They also contribute to improving literacy and social awareness by showing greater empathy about others.

Readers, usually, do not get a victim of stress or depression easily.

They also become an idol of their children in becoming ideal.

If, as a writer you want to create large follower readers, you must give them something which will bind them with your writing.

This is easy to suggest but difficult to achieve.

A writer has to do a lot of homework to decide what he is going to write to attract more readers.

The writer needs a lot of reading himself and observe people know what they would like to read.

The subject must be targeted according to your target audience, for example, you cannot give a travel description if the audience is not travel-savvy.

A subject must be suitable to readers liking and he must get interesting reading it.

Writing is boring simply means that the subject is not relating to the reader.

Have you ever read a thriller or suspense story or seen movies? Well, yeah, we all did.

What is it that keeps us bonded with a book or seat? It’s the suspense, right? Not telling who had committed a murder in a crime thriller till the end is the best way to present yourself as a writer.

Imagine if while describing a murder if you write who is doing it, the readers will be interested to read? No.

Your writing must not narrate but just mention the incidence.

You can also keep people guessing by dropping some conversations periodically.

Creating curiosity in readers’ minds will keep them engaged ad more people will like to read your writing.

It all depends on how you create a hunger to read more in their mind.

Telling the things simply by narration must be the strategy if you are writing something related to student education but here you need to create curiosity.

How to get a repeat audience?

Once you are able to grip on your readers, you can generate more writing of such type and create your repeated audience.

It is more than a challenge to sustain the same audience and create new ones.

This needs a lot of study and visualization as you must avoid being a stereotype.

If you keep on writing a similar type with the same presentation, your readers will turn away from you.

Though your genre is the same you should be competent to write things differently to keep your fans with you.

Generating fan following may happen overnight but sustaining them year on year is next to impossible.

Of course, with practice, you can know the nerve of the readers and keep them feeding better writing consistently.

If the readers follow you for each work means you are a successful writer.

But once you achieve that designation you cannot afford to disappoint your fans and your responsibility increases.

Your thoughts must be put forward honestly in front of the readers.

They must relate to them and should not feel the thoughts are borrowed or unwillingly expressed.

If your thoughts have come honestly it will touch more people and you may get a lot of followers.

Any work done with honesty never remains hidden and it pays the results as desired.

A writer should be true to the subjects and thoughts he is expressing.

A person cannot be both positive and negative for the same thing.

For years the wisdom, culture, and advice have been passed through stories.

If we remember our childhood, we will remember that our parents used to give us a message through some stories.

Usually, people do not understand some things just by telling in few words.

The necessary message has to be communicated in a better way and what can be better by telling it via story? You might have seen many writers or speakers give a lot of routine life examples through which they want to teach us something.

There may be motivational or inspirational writing or speech which might give many the courage to do things in the right way.

There are other advantages to tell a thing through a story and that is one can explain the good and the bad things at the same time.

If you want to cascade a strong message to the audience your network should be spread in such a way that it reaches maximum people at a time.

You can get the message understood by readers if you are telling it in a proper way and that way is storytelling.

Stay focused on good things

Positive and negative are two sides of a coin.

Once you flip a coin one thing will be up so we need to decide what we are going to choose.

If you are not sure what you want, you can rarely become positive towards things and the life you live.

A writer has the power to change the mindset of readers.

If the thoughts are powerfully expressed the readers understand them quickly and the writer can use them to the benefit of his readers.

Readers do not like to relate themselves to negative things.

If they are bombarded with sad and negative matters in writing, not many readers are going to read such things.

The topic must be heartfelt

Another and most important thing about writing is the choice of topic.

Consider you don’t know anything about a game, say baseball, and you are writing on it then can you write it from the bottom of your heart? No.

The topic essentially has to be something which, as a writer, you are passionate about.

The fluency and the flow of writing come naturally if you know about the topic properly.

If your knowledge is deep about the topic you are writing on, then you may not have to search for more information from search engines.

The passion and deep knowledge of the subject will give depth to the writing and as it is written because you like to write on it, it will be much more effective.

Readers do not like the overstretched writing so also writers should keep the writing length in control.

Too much lengthy content will lead the readers to get bored.

Keep creativity simple

Too much creative writing does not attract readers.

If your writing tends more towards fantasy then the readers might get disappointed.

The theory of creativity works only for specific genres of writing and not all.

Most of the writings need general views and opinions that a common man can understand.
