Why it's important to redefine the meaning of happiness?

There is an old saying" “Happiness depends upon ourselves.” and it is true.

A few days back I was watching a video which was about the experiments that have been done on animals and will be done in near future, one of the clips in that video was so heartbreaking that it left me with a question "Is this all really required"? That clip was about creating a featherless hen so that "human being" doesn't have to waste a hell lot of time cleaning up the bird and can make their chicken in very little time.

Now, those of you who are thinking " that's a great invention" let me make you aware of what will happen to a bird with feathers after turning into a featherless bird. Everyone is aware of a fact that feathers are unique to birds, they act as the protective outer covering of chickens and guard them. It helps birds to stay at the right temperature and keep their bodies protected from rain and external injury. Feathers let birds fly and serve as a display for courtship and for the fancier to show.

Just to save our time, disturbing mother nature and snatching those precious wings from innocent birds, do you think this is fair enough? How would you feel if someone cut your hands? Think about it. Well, I am not against inventions and science, unless they are not hurting anyone. Some of them actually worked in a positive manner for humankind, if it's about hurting those innocent creatures who have always helped us, keeping aside their emotions, I will definitely mind.

But, how can we bring a change?

1.Avoid brands that still test on animals

Brands and people are getting aware of the word called "cruelty-free" which means the products which your brand make are not tested on animals and the best part about that is, people have started opting for those brands which are creating such beauty, apparel or lifestyle products.

Well, most of you must be wondering, "if we go for cruelty-free brands we need to pay a lot of money and we have several other things for which we require a handsome amount of money". The good news is, there are some great budget-friendly brands, it's just you need to spend some time looking for them.

2.Stop taking such rides and attending shows

Who doesn't like to ride camels or elephants? Who doesn't like watching dancing dolphins? It's cute! but the reality behind that is heartbreaking. Innocent souls which are trying to make you feel good and happy cries alone and miss their home. According to research, elephants are forced to perform tricks on a stone stage in front of audiences. Riding on the back of an elephant and watching dolphin shows – over 100 million visit cruel wildlife tourism attractions every year.

You might not be aware of the fact that, just for the sake of money and a good show, many of the animals you have seen will have been illegally smuggled into the country or illegally poached from the wild ‘When you see these animals performing uncomfortable and stressful tricks, know they are doing it because they are afraid to be subjected to electric shocks, cigarette burnings or beatings.’

3. Plants trees

Planting trees is another important thing which you can do for these animals. Due to globalization and modernization, animals are losing their habitat because trees are being cut. For providing shelter to the increasing population, people have started cutting trees in large numbers causing problems to animals and birds but where there is a will, there is a way.

Start planting trees on special occasions and try to cut down the use of paper. Everyone deserves happiness!
