There are several methods for consuming cannabis. The cannabis product you're using and the kind of experience you're looking for will determine the best consuming technique. Generally, there are three types of consumption: inhalation, oral, and topical.

Inhalation

All of the active ingredients in cannabis, including THC, are taken into the bloodstream via the lungs when inhaled. It is the preferred method for cannabis users seeking an almost instant high since there is essentially little delay between the moment of inhalation and the chemicals' arrival in the brain. Cannabis may be inhaled in two significant ways: by smoking and by vaping.

  • Pipes

One of the most often used methods for smoking marijuana, pipes are convenient, portable, and tiny. The bowl-shaped portion at one end is filled with cannabis before lighting it. You inhale the smoke after it passes through the pipe chamber and out the mouthpiece. Water pipes, such as bongs, function similarly but filter the smoke via water. The water cools the smoke, resulting in a more comfortable inhalation.

  • Joints

Rolling marijuana with paper is like smoking a cigarette. After lighting one end, the joint is inhaled through the other.

  • Blunts

Blunts are similar to joints, except instead of rolling papers, they utilize cigar paper. You may purchase blunt wraps instead of hollowing out a cigar and replacing the tobacco with cannabis. In addition to being more prominent and containing more cannabis than joints, blunts.

  • Vaping

Another inhalation technique that has grown in popularity recently as a result of technological advancements is vaping. To vape, a device must be heated to a temperature just below the point of combustion, which is between 356 and 374 degrees Fahrenheit, for cannabis flowers or concentrates. This turns the active substances, such as terpenes and cannabinoids, into vapor, which is inhaled.

  • Vaporizers and Vape Pens

Both concentrate and flower may be utilized with vaporizers. Place the cannabis in a heating chamber, regulate the temperature, and use the mouthpiece to inhale the vapor. Both desktops and portable vaporizers are available. Vape pens are made especially for distillates or oils. The oil is contained in a cartridge, composed of a battery that generates heat.

Oral

There are primarily two methods for ingesting cannabis.

  • Edibles

Cannabinoids are ingested and absorbed via the digestive system when you consume a cannabis-infused beverage, baked item, or candy. Consume, swallow, and wait for the results to manifest. The onset of edibles is delayed and lasts for 20 to three hours.

  • Tinctures

Cannabis tinctures are absorbed via the blood vessels behind the tongue after putting a few drops of the tincture beneath your tongue and keeping it there for a few seconds. Tinctures taken sublingually may have an immediate impact and a second, later effect, similar to an edible.

Topical

While topical is more of a distribution technique than a consuming strategy, it is still important to highlight. Cannabinoids are absorbed via the skin with topical treatments, with localized benefits for pain or muscle stiffness. In contrast to other consuming techniques, topicals have no psychotropic effects.
