There are lots of writers on Medium and Vocal.media, Newsbreak, or many other writing plate forms. In fact, thousands of writers worldwide write differently based on their interests. Some prefer to write novels, stories, or scripts, while some enjoy writing self-help, self-motivation, self-love, and self-awareness, on the other hand. Many writers write in the medical niche, while others prefer to write money-making articles. You can say all select their niche according to their grip on the topic or interest. There is nothing wrong with writing in your interested niches. All differ from one another in their interest. But all are common as a writer. Thus, as a writer, there are some responsibilities every writer should consider. Your writing skill is not for granted; therefore, it should not be taken for granted. Writing is a blessing or gift that should use in the right way.

The things you should acknowledge as a writer:

1. Be Honest

By Volodymyr Tokar on Unsplash

As you are talking directly to your readers. Whatever you write can affect their minds. So it is very important to be honest about your words when you forward them to the next person. For instance, if you are writing self-motivation, self-help, and self-love articles, provide the readers with fact-based information and guide them realistically so that it's become possible for them to follow your instructions and kind guide. Don't make it fictional, and don't tell wrong stories. Because instead of helping them, it might make them frustrated. When someone writes beyond the realistic fact, it might engage readers due to the fantasy of words, but it would never help them when they try to practice those stuff in real life. While writing about something that requires buying things keeps all types of readers in your mind because the affordability of everyone is different. For instance, if you are instructing about learning self-love by doing particular tasks, the tasks should be reachable for everyone.

2. Don't Make Readers Fool

Don't write content that opposes your title. It is just like you are offering something else and delivering something else. You might engage people in your content. But soon, they will realize the content is false or misleading. A person who comes to your page is not a fool. People will leave the article halfway, they will not bother to click any of your articles if they get any notification in their feed in the future, or they might block you. Readers should be more important for writers than anything else. The reader's trust is precious; thus, don't let it go.

3. Don't Steal Someone's Else Content

Many writers on Medium join the plate form to fulfill their money needs. That is not wrong at all. Everyone joins Medium for a purpose that includes earning money to pay their bill. You can make money by posting content that is your property. I mean to say, they could do everything the right way to get better results. Stealing content from other plate forms and using it without the owner's permission is not a fair job. You might not know how much effort that person has put into creating his/her content. Many people steal articles from others on the internet and post them on Medium. However, Medium does not select plagiarised articles for further curation and distribution. Many stealers remove plagiarism differently and make Medium blind to resolve this issue. This shouldn't be an attitude of writers. Writing is not a scam; it's a responsibility. Because words have the power to change the world, and you should use them to educate people.

4. Try To Use Your Words To Educate People

Writing is a gift from God. If you got good writing skills, use them to educate the world. Instead of using your writing skill to spread misleading information, provide healthy and good quality knowledge to people to educate their minds. There are lots of things to do in the world other than spreading negativity or poor taste comedy. Many people use writing to spread hate speech, to entertain people with their poor taste, comedy, etc. You can also entrain your readers by being realistic and decent and providing them with healthy content.

5. Own Your Identity

Many people join Medium, Vocal, or other writing platforms with fake identities. It's your personal, way you want to join, but if you join the platform with your original identity, it will confirm your authenticity being a writer and your seriousness and loyalty to your profession. Some writers use creative names for their pages based on their niche or other factors. That's totally fine. Here, I mean to call those people who hide their identity because they want to steal content from here and there, or they might want to spread misleading information. Don't do this. This shouldn't be a choice as a writer. You can join with your business name, page name, or real name. The choice is yours.

Simply, I would like to say that writing is a responsibility. Everyone pursuing writing as a career, dream, or wish should perform this responsibility honestly.
