Making money with surveys is a great way to earn a couple of extra hundred pounds a month. But with so many survey sites, it can be hard to know which ones are legit, which ones are scams, and which are legitimate survey sites, but just a massive waste of time. We've all signed up to one of them and regretted it!
Fairly recently, my office moved—and with it, moved a lot of our goods. We kept some of the cute knick-knackeries of the former office, but truth be told, we couldn't stand the idea of keeping the furniture from the old office. The chairs were painfully uncomfortable, and the tables weren't even stable.
What does your workspace say about you? It is a representation of you and could make a first impression of who you are to your colleagues. It reflects personality and shows whether or not you have a sense of creativity or compassion. It also speaks highly of your organizational skills. Whether you work in a cubicle or have a home office, your workspace is extremely important. It could provide you with the flow you need to be happy and productive, or in retrospect, its chaos could cause you frustration and the inability to focus. Or heck, maybe you just want a revamp because you’ve had the same set-up for 10 years and you're bored.
Your motivation to work and amount of productivity definitely gets affected by what's laying around on your office desk. My desk used to be filled with really boring, black and white material, from pens to planners, folders, and even my laptop bag was black. At first, I wanted to look professional and minimize color for more sophistication, but I was wrong. I was really bored with the way my desk accessories looked. My desk looked lifeless and dull compared to what my coworkers had on their desks: colorful pens, folders, and even potted plants.
As a newcomer to the workforce, I had no idea the effect staring at a computer screen all day would really have on my eyes. I mean, sure, I used my laptop a lot in college, but certainly not eight hours a day, five days a week. Needless to say, the transition has been jarring on my poor eyes (and body, but that's a whole other story). For months now I've been coming home every day and feeling like if I even so much as glance at another screen, my eyes will literally fall out of my head (it's fine, I'm fine). They simply can't handle the strain of staring at my computer screen any longer. The headaches and lack of sleep? I'm so over it.
I was the most disorganized person ever. I'd forget events, did last minute assignments, missed my appointments, and forgot literally everything else because work was taking over my life. It would usually be really tough for me to be productive whenever it was my busy season. I wouldn't be productive to the point where I couldn't complete simple tasks like cleaning around in my apartment.
Do you like full-size freebies? I recently joined a sampling forum called BzzAgent. Super simple layout and you don’t waste a gigantic amount of time for a sample worth 10 cents! The site asks you to enter a little bit about yourself; it also allows you to connect to Facebook (which makes signing up even shorter!). After the initial sign-up and account verification you simply fill out a couple surveys—these help them to identify the best samples for you! Next, you wait.... for what may seem like an eternity! It was actually just a couple weeks for me to receive my first campaign invite! They sent me the bottle above at NO cost! No shipping fee for the full-size sample! Upon receiving the product you are asked to try it out and give your honest opinion. There are no better rewards for an individual who loves the product than one who absolutely hates it and lets everyone know! However, I found my sample to be wonderful! I used it on my bedding and it left such a pleasant scent! I paired it with scented laundry soap... I suggest that you get an “unscented” soap if you get this conditioner. I think that would enhance the lavender, but haven’t personally gotten to try it that way. I am excitedly waiting to be chosen for another sample! Go ahead, give it a try!
If you spend a lot of your time in the office sitting at a computer, I'm sure you're used to pain in your hands and wrists. Consistently typing with your fingers can eventually lead to carpal tunnel syndrome or arthritis. Thankfully, there are a number of different ergonomic keyboards and mice that can help. Although we've seen computers change over the years, we've now finally begun to see keyboards and mice adapt to people's needs. With their new sleek designs and methodology, here are the top ten ergonomic keyboards and mice to prevent wrist pain.
I stumbled across the JOANY Survey on The Penny Hoarder. My first initial thought was, there is absolutely no way they are paying you $25 to take a 10-minute survey. Most of the time surveys either pay nothing for very little (under $1) for about 30-45 minutes of your time. Anyone who participates in survey panels such as Qmee and One Opinion knows what I’m talking about. Though, these are still good sites to sign up for, for their own unique reasons.
Creating a business card is more important than you think. A business card is something that, in a pocket-sized space, can represent you as a whole. So you should take it seriously!
There are a lot of pros and cons to working from home, but if do decide to permanently eliminate commuting from your life, a few items are necessary for it to work (pun certainly intended). One of them, and arguably the most important, is the chair you will be using. I occasionally work from home whenever the weather decides to be incredibly extra and does not permit my office to open. At first, I'm happy because it eliminates my commute and I can stay in bed for a little longer. Soon after, that happiness transforms into frustration for one simple reason: I have nowhere to work.
