Brian Harbin spent nearly two years negotiating the sale of a single word. The word was Wisdom, the buyer wanted it on the .ai extension, and when the deal finally closed in 2025 the price was $750,000. I Want to Create
Creating is both easy and hard. We may live in a world where it seems easy to share art, but beneath the surface it’s actually really hard. Especially when you work full time, don’t have traditional ways to approach art, or you’ve been making art for a long time and no one really takes you seriously. Combine that with social pressures and everyone having some critique of something it becomes a nightmare. But the real issue sometimes isn’t how tired you are, unmotivated, or worried about having your feelings hurt, a bigger issue is how often content is blocked. (The cynical comedian in me really wants to mention Big brother… Because censorship is a huge reason people get blocked, but I’m beefing with audio copyright in this particular post).
