My Friend the Police Officer
I have known this man decently for at least three years. We went to the same high school and served in the Manual Academy JROTC program. As I've grown to know him, he's been more and more himself. In the past... well, for a while he was in the police academy. Despite being one of the star football players, he was really down to earth in high school. He dealt with all kinds of drama from people having a concussion every other week to struggling with Trigonometry. By his senior year, he was in the top three, "god powers," as we cadets called them, of the JROTC Battalion. He was the Cadet Sergeant Major, CSM for short. He led the weekly Physical Training, amongst other things. After he graduated, he suffered a terrible loss, that no one really knew how to help with. Somewhere in the midst of the homework and football games, he decided that he wanted to be a Police Officer.

No Joke: Feynman & the Common Core
One of the things I have been working on as a point of self-improvement recently is broadening my horizons as far as reading materials are concerned. I've always prided myself on my willingness to read anything. Packing up my books into boxes to move into my new house, I realized that while it may be true that I will read anything, I wasn't making the effort to be as well-rounded as I should. The majority of my shelves are classic or modern fiction. To remedy the situation I recently picked up and Dr. Richard Feynman's memoir Surely You're Joking, Mr. Feynman.

The F Plan, Tips to Help You Take Control of Your Inner Critic!
The F Plan, to beat the inner critic. The F Plan—to break away from negative thought processes and unhealthy patterns. The Brain Doesn't Obey The Mind
We’ve all experienced it, usually without having noticed. Driving to a familiar location on your usual route. For example, you arrive, and then the realisation that you have absolutely no idea how you got there hits you. This is true of many "mindless" tasks and behaviors. Subjectively, the time is just missing. Some are so convinced this is external that they swear they must have been abducted by aliens.

What No One Tells You About That You Really Need to Know
Currently a bit behind schedule today. First of all, it was so noisy wherever I go went to try and work; secondly, it's so hot today that all you just want to do is sleep and not do anything, to be honest with you, but hey at least it's not raining and I get to be able to enjoy the nice weather.

5 Reasons College is Better Than High School
Anyone that experienced the four years that was high school, understands that it was interesting, to say the least. However, four years of never quite feeling like yourself and still having to raise your hand to go to the bathroom got a little tedious at times. Don't get me wrong it was not all terrible, but I am definitely a lot happier in college than I ever was in high school. Now that I'm in college, I understand why I was always told it would get better. So, here are 5 reasons why college is better than high school.

From Consumer to Co-Creator
The funny thing is, people don't really think of themselves as "consumers." It is a label or an idea that is imposed on us from the outside. Those involved in advertising, marketing, economics and so on will be well acquainted with this idea and what it means for modern society. If we slow down our own consumption for a few moments, we will begin to see how rapacious this activity truly is.

So You Just Graduated
So you just graduated. You just listened to lengthy speeches about how many amazing things you are going to accomplish and how wonderful life has been so far. Your face hurts from smiling for so many pictures. You are surrounded by your best friends and all of the people that have supported you through high school in the most glamorous of clothing- all of it is like consolidation for that impending fear of graduation, that you’ll screw it all up after this day.

Alice and the Endless Dimensions
This time I became tired of my daydreams even faster. Not that I didn’t like all those things I imagined, and everything was really very exciting, but the fact that it was all taking place only in my mind, left me quite a lot to wish for.
