We just can’t get enough of new ways to earn money. We need more income so we can provide for our families, tackle bills, and just for plain living expenses. Although you may be working at a great full-time or part-time paying job, I am sure that an under-the-table job would spark interest.

Have all sorts of side hustles for every season that pay you instant cash. Below I have listed a decent amount of side jobs that pay you under-the-table:

Selling Crafts

If you have some creativity and skills in crafting, you can sell these to people for cash. That can be at garage sales, art shows, craft shows, local festivals, etc. If you’re looking to reach global customers you can create an Etsy shop or sell your crafts on Shopify.

There is a market for all sorts of things like woodworking, clothing, art, jewelry, or whatever you enjoy making. This takes effort because you are creating things, but if you love what you do then you’ll have a smile on your face and will always be eager to start a new craft project. This idea can put a few hundred bucks or more in your pockets.

Snow Removal/Shoveling

Now it depends on your location of course, but snow removal can earn you a decent amount. Most people dislike shoveling snow and having to deal with cleaning their driveway to escape the next day for work. Besides those that hate it, older people or those disabled may need help clearing sidewalks, their front door access, etc.

You can easily help out and earn cash for your assistance. You can post your local services on a Facebook group or Craigslist. At the same time, you can just set up flyers in your neighborhood or walk into local businesses. You can just ask if they need someone to clear out their sidewalks and parking lots during snow days.

This is also a great workout. Keeping your body active while helping your community. All you need is a shovel or snow blower to get started. If you want to offer more aggressive snow removal, and you have a truck then you could attach a plow to the front and take care of some other businesses too.

This would be a great way to close out your year with different income streams that are under the table. Most people create a seasonal business out of this and start to spread out. Just consider your options and how you want to go about it.

Handyman

Are you good at fixing things in general? Like household appliances, woodworking, electronics, computers, etc. Whatever it may be, if you have a knack and knowledge for any of these areas then people will certainly pay you to help out.

And that’s especially true if you can save them some money from usually very expensive professional services. Of course, do not take on a job you have no knowledge of to just try to make a few bucks. You don’t want to start off with negative experiences.

If you have a landlord or at least know a homeowner, then this is something to consider strongly. Someone who owns a home needs fixing from time to time and most contractors ask for too much to do little or put no effort. So as a landlord it is hard to get things fixed right away these days.

This is when you can come in and put your skills to work. You can charge a good amount. A friend of mine is a jack of all trades. He currently has about four under-the-table side jobs. He fixes cars, houses, does snow removal, and does landscaping. Landlords call him up and offer $60-$150 an hour to just do the jobs that he finds a breeze.

Help People Move

Most people would agree that moving out or in can be a huge headache. At the very least, it is an unappealing activity that most people would rather avoid. But this also creates a unique opportunity for those willing to do it.

You can get started like any other way which is asking friends and family or through the internet. There is an app/website that is very helpful, called Dolly. See it as an Uber or Instacart but for helping people move.

Earning a decent amount in just a few days is something to consider. Especially if you live in areas where there is constant traffic with people moving.

Painting

If there is one other main job that the majority of people probably hate doing, it’s painting. Not everyone has the time to do it around their home. If you don’t mind it and have some experience, you can definitely make some cash doing this work for others.

Painting may include particular rooms in someone’s house, fences, sheds, or maybe other miscellaneous items. If you have a couple of friends that enjoy painting or just moving around you can pay them to join you on these projects to make it quicker. Also, this means you can charge more.

Creating and Selling Artwork

If you have an artistic side and are skilled at creating wall art you can consider selling your pieces online or in local spots. You can create digital wall art and print them, then you can put your artwork in a frame. With that, you can sell them online or just go out and get sales in person.

Also, you don’t have to print them out yourself you can just sell them online as digital files for the customer to print out themselves and frame. In this day in age, you can use advanced technology to make creating digital art easier. In just an hour or less, you can have the beautiful wall art to sell. A popular device that can help your side hustle bloom can be the iPad.

If you have a room that's vacant or a basement you can set up a workshop there. Create a beautiful canvas with all sorts of colors. People love art especially if it was created by hand. Something that speaks to them or just brings life into their home. You can earn from $2700 to $6k a month depending on your location.

Photography

Almost everyone can take good photos and that’s thanks to the advancement of cameras on our cellphones. It still takes a bit of skill to take great photographs and to edit them.

You can start to dabble in photography and end up liking it, there is always a market for it. Whether that is family portraits, maternity, weddings, other events, product photos for businesses, and so on.

You can use social media or local businesses to showcase your work. This side hustle as well as others can become a seriously well-paying side hustle or potential full-time job. Consider talking to your friends if they need someone to take photos at their baby shower or any sort of event that may come up.

Use any opportunity to show that your hard work paid off. Everyone has to start somewhere though, and some under-the-table photo jobs can be a great start.

Make Money Flipping Junk (Trash to Treasure)

You may have heard the saying “One person's trash is another person's treasure” well that is definitely the case. Drive around before trash day and see what you can find on the sidewalks. At times you can find dressers that can be restored and then sold.

There are a good amount of people that do this. You can also let people know what you do. They will be more than happy to reach out to you so you can get rid of the things they no longer want or need. Now you can get the ball rolling and set up a clients list. This kind of work is also good for the environment if you’re a go green type of person.

Consider reading this article of a group of guys that do this for a living and love it. Link to the article.

Now let me make this clear I don’t advocate for any tax avoidance. The side hustles I mentioned can bring in a good amount so of course, you need to report it at the end of the year. What you do with the information given is up to you at the end of the day.

How to find under-the-table jobs? Where to post your side gigs? Some places to consider:

Craigslist (Which is one of the classic ways to find and post under-the-table jobs. Go to the “Gigs” section to find potential cash jobs.)

Facebook (Facebook Marketplace and local groups. When looking for local groups, make sure it’s active and people are posting each week.)

Ask your friends and family (There may be work they need to be done and are more willing to trust someone they know to get the job done. Also, they may have connections that can set you up.)

There are more websites and ways to find some under the table paying gigs, but the above are great places to start.

All these side hustles can also give you the freedom to call your own shots. You can set your own time on when to work and you can set your own rates. Get rid of debt or just earn enough money to enjoy your life. I hope this information I put together can at least help you get started. Thanks for reading!
