General Updates

The Bulk Edit: The ability to edit numerous data sets in a few clicks

The Bulk Edit feature is the most important feature people have been waiting for and now that it’s out there make use of it for your Shopware shop. With the use of the Bulk Edit feature, you can use it as an online store operator to process multiple data in the admin with a few clicks, thus it helps to reduce your time.

Thanks to Bulk Edit, it is now possible to edit various data sets within a few clicks rather than setting up a call and editing them manually all the time. Bulk Edit can be used for two sections called products and orders. The admin can change or adjust multiple fields for various products and orders at the same.

With this feature, the admin can select up to 1,000 orders or products at once and make the necessary changes in the inventory, stock level, product descriptions, number of products, properties, etc in no time.

Note: It is expected to enhance more features with the ability to edit customer data and order documents to ensure smooth and seamless functionalities of Bulk Edit in the future.

Find more conditions using Rule Builder

The Rule Builder is the most important feature offered by Shopware, which allows the admin to create various rules using the defined conditions tailored to meet specific business needs. Be it creating simple price promotions or complex scenarios, you can create them easily by using the rule builder. Before, you used to create rules from the admin under Settings> Rule Builder which was linked to one or more conditions.

To make it easier, we have added 3 more conditions to already existing conditions with this new release:

Customer email address: It allows you to create a specific rule-based customer email address. For instance, you can set this rule if you want to give some discounts to customers with a specific company.

Line item available stock: This allows you to link your new rule for the product. For example, if you want to change the stock of a product in terms of higher, lower, or equal to the value X.

The Volume of the cart: This is used to determine the number of products and to measure the volume of the Shopping basket. It allows you to set rules for shipping to calculate the shipping costs.

Optimized Sales Channels handling

As before, it was hard to manage a lot of sales channels cause we had to click each and every sales channel.

But now there’s no longer a need to click and check various sales channels. With the optimized sales channels, it is now possible to overview and manage all sales channels from the new administration.

All you need to do is just click on the new three-dots menu from the admin sidebar and choose Manage Sales Channels. With just one click, you can see an overview of all sales channels and check the number of products and their status, etc.

It’s not ended yet, you can even edit or add new sales channels, as well as search for sales channels you want to take an overview of. Thus, now it is easier to use and manage all sales channels from one place without having to waste much time.

Flexibility for admin users with multiple timezones

With this new feature, the admin can set specific timezone based on users’ different locations and time zones. This feature is a huge plus for online stores having users from different time zones. To set the timezone, click on your profile at the bottom left in the administration and choose the desired country from the new Timezone field.

Developer News

Localized apps feedback

With this release, app developers can now get localized feedback from the default or the user language. For example, webhooks that come with no admin interaction.

Isolation of error handling in admin

A lot of error boundary implementations have been made for the isolation of errors on multiple levels. You can now log these error messages to the console before they break or harm other parts of the software so further they can be identified on the module level.

These error messages will now be logged to the console before they can break other parts of the software so they can be caught on the module level.

Isolated extensions in the admin

Thanks to this important feature, made it possible to distinguish extensions completely from each other as well as from the admin core. Thus, it ensures no breakage in the core build or any conflicts with other extensions.

Not only that, but it will also be using its own Webpack configuration and installation dependencies for each and every extension you use for your website. In short, it will help to make the entire system more robust and stable, and more independent for coding extensions.
