Rebel Heir is the latest installment in the Vancity Villains book series written by Jaine Diamond. Now, For those of you not in the loop, or who have not fallen down the rabbit hole of hot rock star romances, Mrs. Diamond is your gal. She created an entire series of books set in the same universe as Rebel Heir, affectionately referred to as the "Dirtyverse" beginning with the sizzling Dirty series and continuing in the Player's series. If sexy, brooding rock stars with only one thing on their minds are your cup of tea, then check out her other works here. Otherwise, buckle up and enjoy the ride!

Before diving in, I do need to point out that it is highly recommended to have read the first novel in the VV series entitled Handsome Devil, but it is not a requirement as most of the important details are touched on in RH. Unfortunately, due to the fact that this is a new release novel with very little coverage, I cannot give away a lot of "critical" plot spoilers. That being said, there is a lot of information to unpack, without giving away too much. So let's begin.

Who's who:

The lead male protagonist is named Lexington Davenport but goes by Lex due to personal preference. He was first introduced in Dirty Like Jude and had various cameos throughout the series as a whole. He's a handsome outlaw biker for the West Coast Kings with messy caramel-blonde hair, smoldering brown eyes, and wickedly awesome silver canine teeth. Truly a man that could rip your panties clean off with his bare hands, and break your heart. All the while you let him do both.

On the other side of the metaphorical coin, there's Natalia De Santis, otherwise known as Talia. She was also first introduced in Dirty Like Jude as the best friend and assistant of Roni Webber (introduced in Dirty Like Brody). She has gorgeous blonde hair, bright brown eyes, and a slim athletic figure. Talia may look sweet and innocent but has an insatiable taste for all the guilty pleasures in life. Lex included. Yes, our hot-headed Italian princess is the kind of woman that any man would go to war for; claiming her like the trophy that she is.

At first glance, these two don't appear to have much in common besides being in the same place at the same time. Well, that and drinking suggestively named shooters (check out Dirty Like Zane). But you know what they say: appearances can be deceiving.

Plot Summary:

Lex and Talia reunite at a party hosted by Roni and Jude. Only to find out that those sparks from years ago are hard to extinguish. There's sneaking around, a failed proposal, heated exchanges, and utter embarrassment sprinkled throughout the first few chapters. After all the lighthearted stuff comes the dark and gritty. Under his tough outlaw biker exterior, Lex is a vulnerable person with a seedy, questionable past that has come back to haunt him. The sordid ties to his unethical lineage threaten to destroy everything important to him. Talia included. Will the underbelly of society take their pound of flesh, or will our main characters overcome the obstacles and make good on their promises? There's only one way to find out: Read the book!

Final Thoughts:

Rebel Heir is a hot and heavy read that will leave you holding your breath and wiggling in anticipation over what happens next. Want to buy it but don't know where to start? It's available on Amazon.com as a paperback, for digital purchase on the Kindle app, for free as part of Kindle Unlimited, and for future audiobook releases on audible.com. Any support at all for Mrs. Diamond is surely appreciated so she can continue to write deliciously addictive romances.
