Everyone joined Medium with a purpose. 95% joined to earn their dream income. Some joined to build their freelance portfolio. Very few people are only pure readers and they do not join Medium to make it an income source. The majority of people are here to make their dream true by generating a huge income from their content. But only a few people can achieve their goals here.

Why Most People Couldn't Grow on Medium?

Here is the reason ( my personal opinion)

Engagement: People do not engage with each other. Most of you just publish your article and leave it by making a fictional perception about it. That, your article is written and published, now no more work is needed to put on that published article. You know what? The main challenge appears after the article is published. Your article will generate income if you will invite people to read it. Mean, engagement is important. The reason people do not grow is engagement. People do not engage with each other. While I was thinking that every person can succeed on the site if we will start engaging with each other. Because we are leaders of the site. Think for a while, if all writers will leave Medium, then, who will be on the ground? Who will run this platform? We kept it alive. Without the readers and writers, platforms will die. So if we as a writer community will engage with each other and will support others writers, then nobody will be left disappointed on the site.

What do I mean by engagement and how to engage?

* I mean the same as its meaning is. Engagement means connecting with other people by following them, reading their stuff, by applaud for their content, and commenting.

* By helping others you will be helped back. It's just like give and take. When you will start giving to people, they will give you back. By becoming a support system for other we basically make a family to support us in return.

* A huge number of people here are using medium membership, the majority do not bother to join Medium membership by their fellow writer's referral link. Why? Because we think we are paying extra to other writers or we don't want others to be get benefitted. We have to pay $5 to get full access to the medium, then is it not better if we enroll ourselves with our struggling fellow writer? A single step is enough to encourage and motivate other writers.

* Another way to engage with other writers is to tag them if you are writing something relevant to their niche, or if you adore their content. Today, I publish an article and I tried to tag the maximum number of people to thank them for being on my page. By doing so you can introduce them to your readers. When you support others by doing so, automatically helps comes back to you. Because when you will tag people they will love your support for them and you will get reads in return.

I think engaging not with each other is the reason most of our fellow writers left the site with dissapointemt. So try to be a support system for each other. God will be your support system for you.
