Pro's and cons,Shopify Vs Volusion

When trying to start your own business or website even. Its hard to know where to begin. Even if you want a website for merely personal reasons only. You still have to figure out which is the best for you to build you website through. Now I never knew you had to have someone who does coding or know how to code in order to build a website of your own. So me just starting my own fashion business would be a process. Now you could be wondering why would I be someone to take advice from regarding E-commerce websites. Well that is because I have had about 3 years of experience all together on both platforms so here I will be breaking each down with the pro's and con's and ultimately you can decide which is the best and works for you.

Shopify is and has been the most talked about platform to start on launching your own business and to get into drop shipping with but no one tells you the pro's and con's until you find out on you own and most videos on YouTube don't mention them. On the other hand Volusion is one rarely talked about compared to Shopify but also has pro's and con's that are not talked about much. All in all its up to you with what you are looking for from a E-commerce site. Rather it be great assistance, lots of themes, lots of drop shipping items, and many others that they do or don't offer.

Lets dive in on Shopify vs Volusion. The pro's of Shopify are that they have amazingly a wide range of themes and lay outs to pick from which Volusion also has in common with Shopify. They both have great wide range to customize a shop and make it your own. The small downfall that I notice on Shopify is that at the very bottom of the website it @ Shopify and shows that your website is affiliated with them. Which is something that Volusion doesn't do. I feel that having this as being a customer when I shop on website I go to the bottom and notice @ Shopify I would not shop being I don't know the trust of this brand through Shopify because I know it can be ran by anyone which makes it seem less legit from a customers point of view. This is a Pro for Volusion you have more trust and no affiliate shown on you website and it is truly your own.

Now one must compare the drop shipping itself of Shopify and Volusion and to in this is the most important to decide which you would rather deal with and determines how to choose from the two. Now the reason Shopify seems to be at the top and number one for everyone is because of there drop shipping. They have the most and top widest range of all for there drop shipping items you name it they have it from clothes to pens, watches, toys, even different types of bandages to sell. As Shopify has a 2nd party called Oberlo on drop shipping who only works with them to get the best from Aliexpress and Alibaba and more to get unlimited items from. As Volusion or any other E-commerce can't compete with them having the number one Oberlo and Aliexpress backing them a bit. As this does come with a few con's even though they have lots of inventory for your websites it can cause problems and i will get to them shortly. As to Volusion who doesn't have this advantage and have only a few clothes for drop shipping that let me tell you are not that eye catching as and very few and I mean very few items seem very depressing but are all certified but a con as more items are needed other than depressing clothes.

On the other hand with all this great inventory with Shopify the con list added up being they have Oberlo and the other parties and they also offer pro features like apps to help manage and make your website seem legit and trusting. The con in this is when you have a problem with your store for example if a item is not in stock on aliexpress anymore no one or nothing notifies you. You have to check manually on Oberlo and to know if inventory is low. I found myself having to check everyday on weather they were in stock. Also if stock is gone and customer buys you will have to do a refund which i found myself having to do on my first ever purchase. Shopify doesn't show how unless you look up or customer service can't do for you. The Shopify response is slow and sometimes the will say they can't help only Oberlo helps with those problems and you have to go back and forth to the different parties to get help with what you need. By then you either figure it out or you search YouTube on how which is to much. With Volusion this is there con they are fast responding and help with your problems right on there side and it gets done at that moment they are on top of it. With Volusion though in order to get more drop shipping inventory you do have to find own venders or go through Aliexpress yourself and upload items which can be time consuming but Shopify to edit price and add items is a bit of the same work but Volusion a bit more tedious.

Fraudulent orders, was a nightmare on Shopify which is a con. People will order from your site from another country and use a different card than the address and order 200$ or more items from stolen card and you get the notice it fraudulent and Shopify doesn't help at all with this. You are having to go through and figure it out and this is what resulted into my leave of Shopify. The biggest con is that they don't help with this or help on what to do and Shopify goes in your bank that is linked and was pulling money from my account of the 200$ purchase that was never even paid to my site and was taking it. No platform on E-Commerce should go into you account and pull and make you pay for fraudulent customer errors. This is another article so big Tip: make sure to promote only into you country when just starting out to keep this a bare minimum. This is the pro of Volusion they handle all of these matters and quickly they will make sure nothing like this happens ad if so notify them and on there end they are on it right away and take no extra funds or go into you bank without permission of someones mistake.

All in all you can decide which you prefer they both are good just have to know some insight about both before starting and sales are possible on both but just know that both will be able to get sales if promote both take great marketing just one has more inventory and other has more guidance and hep along the way.
