Oscar Winners Christopher Hampton & Kevin Willmott receive a Lifetime Achievement Award at Septimius Awards 2022 in Amsterdam the Netherlands. The award ceremony honored the two accomplished industry veterans.

Sir Christopher James Hampton is a British playwright, screenwriter and film director . He is best known for his play Les Liaisons Dangereuses, which is based on the novel of the same title , and the film version Dangerous Liaisons (1988). The nomination of his screenplay for the film adaptation of Ian McEwan 's Atonement has also contributed to his fame. He is a Commander of the Order of the British Empire and a member of the British Royal Society of Literature.

Christopher Hampton has worked with most A-list celebrities in Hollywood, which include Emma Thompson, Julia Roberts, Leonardo DiCaprio, Glenn Close, Uma Thurman, John Malkovich, Michelle Pfeiffer, Antonio Banderas, Keira Knightley, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Naomi Watts, Robin Wright, Keanu Reeves, Christian Bale and the legendary actor Sir Anthony Hopkins. Christopher Hampton won his second Oscar for the film The Father starring Anthony Hopkins.

The industry veteran and writer of Spike Lee, Kevin Willmott also received a Lifetime Achievement Award at Septimius Awards 2022. Kevin Willmott (born August 31, 1959) is an Academy Award Winning American film director and screenwriter, and professor of film at the University of Kansas. He is known for work focusing on black issues including writing and directing Ninth Street, C.S.A.: The Confederate States of America, and Bunker Hill. His The Only Good Indian (2009) was a feature film about Native American children at an Indian boarding school and the forced assimilation that took place. In Jayhawkers (2014), he followed the life of Wilt Chamberlain, Phog Allen and the 1956 Kansas Jayhawks basketball team. Willmott has collaborated with Spike Lee, with whom he shared an Academy Award for Best Adapted Screenplay for BlacKkKlansman. The two again collaborated in writing Da 5 Bloods, released on June 12, 2020.

The Father

The Father

The Father is a 2020 psychological drama film directed by Florian Zeller, in his directorial debut; he co-wrote the screenplay with fellow playwright Christopher Hampton based on Zeller's 2012 play Le Père, which is part of a trilogy that also includes Le Fils and The Mother. A French-British co-production, the film stars Anthony Hopkins, Olivia Colman, Mark Gatiss, Imogen Poots, Rufus Sewell, and Olivia Williams, and follows an octogenarian man living with dementia. It is the second adaptation of the play after the 2015 film Floride.

The Father premiered at the 2020 Sundance Film Festival in 2020, and was released by Sony Pictures Classics in the United States on 26 February 2021, in France on 26 May 2021 by UGC Distribution and in the United Kingdom on 11 June 2021 by Lionsgate UK. The film grossed $28 million on a $6 million budget and was acclaimed by critics, who lauded the performances of Hopkins and Colman, as well as the production values and its portrayal of dementia.

At the 93rd Academy Awards, Hopkins won Best Actor and Zeller and Hampton won Best Adapted Screenplay; the film received six nominations in total, including Best Picture and Best Supporting Actress (Olivia Colman). At the 78th Golden Globe Awards, the film received four nominations, including Best Motion Picture – Drama, and it received six nominations at the 74th British Academy Film Awards, winning Best Actor (Anthony Hopkins) and Best Adapted Screenplay. In addition, Hopkins and Colman were nominated for Outstanding Leading Actor and Outstanding Supporting Actress respectively at the 27th Screen Actors Guild Awards. A follow-up film, based on Zeller's 2018 play The Son and with Hopkins reprising his role as Anthony, and Zeller returning as writer and director, is currently in production.

BlacKkKlansman is a 2018 American biographical crime film directed by Spike Lee and written by David Rabinowitz, Charlie Wachtel, Kevin Willmott and Lee, based on the 2014 memoir Black Klansman by Ron Stallworth. The film stars John David Washington as Stallworth, along with Adam Driver, Laura Harrier, and Topher Grace. Set in the 1970s in Colorado Springs, the plot follows the first African-American detective in the city's police department as he sets out to infiltrate and expose the local Ku Klux Klan chapter.
