At this moment in time

Dear Health Care Professionals,

On a day to day basis, you guys don’t get a lot of attention. People take advantage of you and you don’t get a whole lot back for it. Until something bad happens in the world like a natural disaster or a pandemic. That is the only time that someone will step up to the plate and actually say thank you. That is why I am taking the time now to thank you for everything you have done for us. You deserve all the respect one could give.

People go to the hospital to get help or even just have a regular check-up. That is normal for them and they don’t think much about it. Seeking medical treatment has become a privilege for people, even when they don’t realize what it actually costs to get it. They don’t think it is necessary to thank the ones that are helping them maintain that healthy life. The medical field is a very intense career of work and many don’t understand that.

Each one of you has your own families to take care of after you leave your job for the day, whether that be just yourself or other members of the family or even animals. That is after a long difficult day at work, dealing with patients and co-workers. That isn’t even including what has happened recently with the COVID-19 outbreak. Some of you aren’t even able to go home and see your families and say good night to your kids or loved ones in person. You are having to spend them in lonely quarantine. Now you spend your days at work fighting to keep yourselves healthy and your nights hoping that you don’t get anyone else sick. Hoping that no one else will end up dying at the hand of the virus. Keeping your hopes up that you will be able to change just one person’s life for the better.

Recently you have been put through the unimaginable. Even though COVID-19 is roaming around you still choose to fight in order to protect us. Even if it means that you risk hurting or getting yourself sick in the end. You are extremely brave and strong for going through that over and over again each day that you walk into the hospital or office. Even the medical professionals who are having to work from home are trying the best that they can do. You are still seeing patients over video chat in order to still be able to help the people that need it. Learning new software in order to help them achieve that for everyone. So that you are able to be reached by a patient if needed. Some of you have even gotten the virus by doing your jobs and trying your best to help.

Thank you for risking your life and wellbeing to protect mine and many others here on this earth. I know I am just one person out of billions on this earth, but I sincerely mean everything I say. You show the world that what you are doing is to save more people in the end. Thank you for being brave enough to do simple tasks like washing your hands multiple times a day till your hands are dry and cracked. You show us that it is possible to help others and protect others by taking care of ourselves. Thank you for reminding us how to be grateful for the technology that we have in order to enhance our medical field not just in our day to day lives, but also in situations like the COVID-19 pandemic. You all are working miracles and deserve everything to be thanked and if possible more.

I don’t want to just thank you for the work that you have done during this pandemic though. I want to thank you for protecting our families from the simple common colds and cases of the common flu to pandemics that go around. Thank you for taking the time to care for each person with love and protection. You guys always try the best to help as much as you can and in any way that you can. You all are amazing people and deserve to be thanked on a daily basis but especially during hard times like the one we are going through right now.

Thank you from,

One Single Person
