How do you make money online? For most of us, it’s the ultimate goal, but we never quite get there because we don’t know how to go about it. We don’t know where to look or what sites to register with, and we don’t want to take the time to research when we could be actually making some money! That’s why we’ve compiled this list of some of the best websites that anyone can use to start earning extra cash today.

1) Fiverr

Fiverr gives people from all walks of life a chance to earn an income stream by completing freelance tasks, usually for $5. Freelancers offer their services in a wide range of categories, so if you’re looking for any kind of skill—be it graphic design, writing, or voiceover work—this site will probably have someone who can help.

2) Listia

Listia lets users trade goods for credits, which then can be traded in for cash or other items on the site. These credits are typically worth a few cents, so if you have something lying around gathering dust, you might be able to make a few bucks by selling it on Listia (or at least put it toward your next big purchase). If you haven’t used Listia before, sign up with a friend and trade an item with them; each of you earns one credit to spend later.

3) Stokvel Gold

Stokvels are collective savings groups in South Africa, typically run by a central stokvel association (for example, Stokvel Gold). It's similar to a group or club with membership fees and operating costs and all profits going into one pot for members to share. There's usually a few administrative members (usually friends or family) who get paid small amounts of cash from each member on a regular basis.

4) Steemit

Steemit is a social media platform where content creators earn rewards when their work gets upvoted by other users. It has a built-in audience and community, so your first post will be instantly available for thousands of readers to find—and vote on—right away. Steemit pays more than other platforms because, when it comes down to it, people really just want to be compensated for their time and talent.

5) Airbnb

Airbnb is a community marketplace and home-sharing service. People who own a space (be it an apartment, an RV, or even a treehouse) are able to rent their space out and have people stay for short-term periods of time, saving both parties money on hotel costs and making unique travel accommodations accessible for all types of people. If you’re interested in renting your unused space, create an Airbnb profile and get ready to make some money by hosting travelers from around the world!

6) Airbnb Experiences

Airbnb Experiences is a way for Airbnb hosts to offer an experience to their guests beyond just a place to stay. This could be anything from hiking, fishing, or cooking classes (or anything else you might do if staying at someone’s home). When booking your Airbnb experience with someone, they should let you know how long it will take and how much it will cost—but most people are relatively affordable compared with what an activity would cost elsewhere.

7) Mechanical Turk (Amazon)

The Amazon-owned platform (originally named Mechanical Turk) is geared toward people looking for short-term jobs. The site lets companies post tasks they need help with and workers complete them, often for a small fee or microtask compensation, like a few cents per image uploaded. It’s an easy way to make extra cash if you already have some free time available, but once again it’s not something most high school students will have time for! [source]

8) NewEgg

Need a new computer or some new parts? NewEgg’s got your back, with a variety of electronics available for sale. Buying in bulk? NewEgg offers discounts up to 15% for customers who buy six or more items at once, and make sure to sign up for their loyalty program, too; it provides even greater discounts on certain holidays and rare opportunities such as free shipping.
