Lil Nas X is feeling grateful to be alive. On Monday, August 24, the "Old Town Road" singer, 27, posted a video on his Instagram Stories and celebrated 10,000 days alive, showing off a cake that he had made in honor of the milestone.

"So, tomorrow is my 10,000th day alive and…I made it!" he said with a smile. "A lot of y'all won't make it, but I made it." The Grammy winner later shared a clip of him smiling with his face covered in icing as he ate the cake with his hands.

A Milestone Worth Celebrating

The following day, Nas posted another video talking about how much support he's received since returning to social media after his time in rehab, where he was managing his bipolar disorder. "Ever since I got out of rehab, everybody's like OD nice to me. I could be like 'Hey' and everybody's going to be like 'Oh my God, you're so brave,'" he said, laughing. "I can try to post a thirst trap on my Instagram Story, and then it's going to be somebody like, 'Keep fighting, King.'"

A Vulnerable Return

Nas, whose real name is Montero Hill, returned to social media in June after nearly a year and shared a vulnerable update on his mental health. "I've been in rehab for a few months and since then, I've been back at home whe, whether it's in Atlanta with my family or in Los Angeles with myself, friends and what not, and trying to ground myself down to earth, and get out of my head," he began.

"I have a therapist now and a psychiatrist, which has been really helpful since I got my bipolar disorder diagnosis," he shared. "I feel like I had known for like the past few years, but I didn't want to admit to it because I didn't want to have to take medication and have people think differently of me... Black, gay, bipolar. I'm living life on like extreme hard mode," he said with a laugh. "But on a serious note, I'm doing much better. I'm doing better, I'm feeling better."

A Journey of Healing

Nas's openness about his mental health has been a source of strength for both himself and his fans. His decision to seek help and share his journey publicly has resonated with many who face similar struggles. At the time of his return, he thanked his fans for their support and said he was excited to begin "this next chapter."

"I love you, and all I want to do is continue to try to make you guys proud and make myself proud," he said. His words reflect a commitment to his own well-being and a desire to use his platform to inspire others.

The Significance of 10,000 Days

Celebrating 10,000 days alive is a unique milestone, one that invites reflection on the journey so far. For Nas, this moment is about more than just reaching a number; it's about acknowledging the struggles he's overcome and the growth he's experienced. His playful celebration with cake and icing is a testament to his resilience and his ability to find joy even in difficult times.

Looking Ahead

As Nas continues his journey, he is focused on maintaining his mental health and staying grounded. His openness about his struggles with bipolar disorder and his commitment to therapy and medication are important steps in his ongoing recovery. His fans have rallied around him, offering support and encouragement.

A Message of Hope

Lil Nas X's journey is a reminder that mental health challenges can affect anyone, and that seeking help is a sign of strength. His willingness to share his story has helped destigmatize mental illness and has inspired others to seek the support they need.

As he looks ahead, Nas is excited about what the future holds. "I'm doing much better," he said. "I'm feeling better." And with the support of his fans and his loved ones, he is ready to take on whatever comes next.
