Turkey has a significant trade potential due to its strategic location at the crossroads of Europe and Asia, making it a gateway to both markets. With its growing economy, rapidly developing infrastructure, and favorable investment climate, Turkey has become an attractive destination for foreign investors. The country is rich in natural resources such as petroleum, coal, and iron, which provide a solid base for its manufacturing industry. Additionally, Turkey's young and well-educated workforce, coupled with its favorable demographic trends, make it an ideal place for businesses to establish operations and expand. These factors, along with the government's efforts to promote trade and investment, make Turkey a country with great potential for continued growth and success in international trade.

The economy in Turkey after the pandemic has offered incredible opportunities to investors as a result of rapid inflation and the government's reaction to it. What I actually want to explain is how the crisis in the country has turned into an opportunity.

Turkey is a country with intense foreign trade due to its location at the crossroads of both Asia and Europe. This shows how important the exchange rate of the dollar against the Turkish lira is for the government, investors, and business people, both in terms of exports and imports.

When we examine the chart of the US Dollar - Turkish Lira, it can be seen that on average over the past three years, the dollar has risen from levels of around 6 Turkish Liras to today's levels of around 18, which makes it impossible for such a three-fold change not to create various risks and opportunities in the country. As a result, the housing market, car market, stock exchange, energy, raw materials, tourism and other trade vehicles offer opportunities for more than a three-fold increase in gains.

REAL ESTATE MARKET

At the beginning of the pandemic, the average price of a house that was around 50,000 dollars, or 300,000 Turkish Liras, is now around 2,500,000 Turkish Liras, which is approximately 132,000 dollars based on today's exchange rate.

STOCK MARKET

Although there is still uncertainty due to the approaching election in Turkey, the Istanbul Stock Exchange (XU100), which was at 1200 levels in the early part of 2020, is currently trading at 5000 levels despite the ongoing situation.

RAW MATERIALS PRICES AND LABOR

The significant increase in inflation and the government's simultaneous increase in interest rates has a positive effect on individuals with wealth and good financial management, but is felt in the opposite way by the low-income sector. The government is constantly working on this issue and today the net minimum wage in Turkey is 8,506.80 TL, equivalent to approximately $452. In order to prevent the decline of the access of citizens due to the increase of the dollar against the Turkish lira and to prevent price increases in some products, the government is carrying out work. This creates some opportunities for foreign investors. When foreign currency investment made in Turkey is analyzed sectorally, it is clearly seen that in some instruments, low risk but high returns can be achieved as much as possible.

People are interested in the economic policies that the current government or the opposition will implement after the presidential elections to be held in May in the country. Currently, the government has lowered the interest rates as much as possible and does not want interest rates to increase. This decision may change after the election, but if the opposition candidate wins, the opposite is expected. In this context, the ongoing economic process in the country offers various opportunities before the election.
