Interested in Vocal? Vocal Just Did Something Amazing Today

I woke up to two beautiful rewards from Vocal. Both were unexpected and unannounced.

I have been writing on Vocal since May 2021.

Since then I had my fair share of disappointments on the platform.

It features my earnings and what has worked for me and the next step I will intend to take to maximize reads.

I logged into Vocal this morning and was surprised to see a surprise notification on the Vocal home screen (pictured below).

Firstly, my account was upgraded to Vocal+ for the next 3 months completely for free! No credit card information was required.

A regular Vocal+ membership costs €9.99 per month.

Most of my Vocal income has been through unannounced bonuses. It would be a loss to invest in a Vocal+ membership at this stage.

Benefits of Vocal+ Membership

If you are new to Vocal, let's be clear on what you receive as a Vocal+ member:

1. Higher earnings per reads: $6.00 earnings per 1000 reads compared to $3.80/1000 reads as a non-member.
2. Lower platform processing fee on tips: 2.9% on Vocal + compared to 7% on a non-member account.
3. Lower minimum withdrawal balance: $20 on Vocal + compared to $35 as a non-member.
4. A Vocal+ Badge featured on your profile page.
5. Access to Vocal+ exclusive challenges
6. The option to quickly edit published stories and make simple revisions.

Secondly, I checked my wallet and found a second reward.

A bonus of $10 has been issued to my wallet for upgrading to a free 3-month Vocal+ membership. Wow!

This is an amazing move from Vocal, that will entice many writers to join the platform.

I decided to take a peek inside the Vocal Facebook group and noticed some writers reporting that they have received the same bonus.

It seems that the Vocal team is giving out free Vocal+ membership to entice writers back into the platform and encourage them to continue publishing.

A lot of talented writers have recently stepped away from the platform due to low reads and engagement.

Either way, this is a great initiative on their behalf.

What This Means For You

If you are not yet on the Vocal platform I advise you to join and start publishing your work.

The only requirement is that you post original articles over 600 words. The platform is easy to use and incorporated many of the editing elements available in Medium.

There is no guarantee for success on the platform, but it is really reassuring to know that you get paid for external views as well as internal ones.

If you are already a writer, log into the dashboard and check to see if you received the same bonus.

My favorite aspect of the platform is the bonuses and incentives that you earn after publishing each 5th article.

Vocal Fiction Awards

At this time they have a challenge running for the Vocal Fiction Awards. As of today, there are 46 days left to apply.

25 grand prize winners will each receive $5,000, and be published in Vocal’s first ever book, a collection of short stories by our creators.
