I Tried 4 Side Hustles To Earn Money

A couple of months ago, I sat down to film a YouTube video about side hustles. The script I created was full of the same lies and recycled garbage.

“I made $5,000 dropshipping!”

“These 5 side hustles made me $10,000!”

“Make passive income from this and that”

Truthfully, I hadn’t made a dime from any side hustles other than YouTube. And the ones I did make money from earned me only a couple of bucks. Who wants to hear about a few measly dollars though?

I had prepared myself to exaggerate and lie about my earnings. Hoping that the video would get me millions of views in the future. But I couldn’t bring myself to record it.

And then I watched this:

The Problem With Finance YouTube

This video talked about the current state of finance YouTube. How creators were lying to get views and recycling the same information without doing real research.

If you weren’t aware, finance YouTubers earn loads of money from their content. So lying about earnings to actually make earnings isn’t too hard for these people.

But after watching this, I felt targeted. I felt this video was speaking to me and only me. I love this YouTuber, so hearing him call out the finance YouTube space was relieving.

And I knew I didn’t have to become of these fake finance gurus to start a successful channel. I didn’t want to build my life on that.

So for the past couple of months, I have set out to test some side hustles.

Are the numbers six figures? No, But they are real, and I can live with that.

YouTube

I have to start with the side hustle that has brought me almost $8,000 to this day. If you haven’t read my other article, then I highly suggest reading it. In the article, I talk about my journey and how I made $4,000 in one month.

Out of all side hustles, I recommend Youtube. It is easy and free to start.

Writing

The best part about writing is that it is completely free.

And you can make tons of money from it.

Who can pass this up?

For about 60 minutes of writing and an article a day, you can earn up to $100 daily.

I’ve seen writers on this platform earn $1,000 from one article.

And on here I have earned almost $30.

This is all from about two months of writing which isn't a bad start. I am excited about future earnings.

Affiliate Marketing

This is a side hustle anyone can do. Everyone has family or friends, maybe even coworkers, that they can send affiliate links to.

I recommend starting with banking apps. They have referral links that you can easily copy and share with anyone. And they offer huge payouts to both users whenever you pass the requirements.

If you want to take it a step further, apply to your favorite brands as an ambassador.

Twitch

Whether you like playing games or simply just talking. Twitch is perfect for you.

Twitch is a streaming platform that can earn you up to $100-$300 monthly. Maybe even more, if you are that passionate about streaming.

You earn money on Twitch from subscribers, donations, and a currency called bits.

This is all after you reach monetization requirements, of course.

At one point, I was really shooting for the twitch monetization program, but life got in the way.

I am currently around 82 followers and the funny thing is, they are all from interacting in communities.

I can become a Twitch partner right now if I wanted to, but I am waiting on a better computer to begin streaming again.

Anyway, that concludes my 4 side hustles. I will continue to learn and test more until I eventually strike gold. Don’t be scared to go out and try some of your own side hustles. You never know what skills someone is willing to pay for.

All side hustles take time. Which is why you didn’t read about any crazy numbers. Just be patient and keep aiming for the stars.
