I'm Yoda Bitches: Brand Identity & Why It Matters

Caffeinate & Conquer: The Podcast

Hey Guys! I’m Megs, an often over-caffeinated, adequately tattooed, straight-talking, podcast host, copywriter, ghostwriter, and coach on a mission to conquer the crazy that is small-business ownership.

Join me, every week, for a rousing combination of lessons learned and gold nuggets uncovered on my own self-employed journey, as well as interviews with other kickass creative leaders, and how-to-pointers for those business owners that want to improve their own professional copywriting skills - since words are kinda my JAM!

Sit back, grab a healthy serving of your favorite go-go juice, and join me for Caffeinate & Conquer, the podcast (available via YouTube and all major streaming platforms).

This week I sat down to chat with my friend, professional Brand Coach, Tracy Borreson, to get her thoughts on the importance of having a clear brand identity as a small business owner, along with many other completely unrelated topics including burning books, Disney obsessions, and mourning karaoke through the pandemic.

Borreson shares some of her own professional recommendations for new business owners and self-employed hopefuls, including:

  • Take the time to ensure your branding and marketing are comfortable and authentic to who you are. If you’re forcing yourself to be someone else, or putting on a mask when promoting your business and brand, you’re promoting someone else - something else - and that can only last for so long before the facade breaks.
  • Know which investments should & shouldn’t be made when first starting out - logo design, website creation, and pay-per-click ads.
  • Intentionally deciding WHO you want to be for your clients throughout their professional story. What kind of guide do you want to be? Are you selling yourself short or leaning into your purpose and talents?
  • Taking back your power - whether that be the power of Yoda or Beyonce Pad Thai!
  • Must have professional tools that streamline and clarify the countless tasks of new business owners.
  • Balancing business ownership with motherhood, coping with distractions while working from home, and some of the amazing silver-linings that have come from the COVID-19 shutdown.
  • “You can only be YOU - the rest feels harsh!”

When I’m not podcasting and chatting with amazing entrepreneurs, I’m a professional copywriter and ghostwriter, my passion is helping my fellow savage female entrepreneurs reclaim their time by providing custom creative copy to boost their brand visibility, turn their contacts into clients, and get them back to what matters most in their lives!

My happy place is an overstuffed armchair in my quaint home office, a not-so-softly snoring puppy at my side, and the scent of fresh-brewed coffee permeating the air. I thrive spending my time crafting eye-catching, action-inducing, search engine optimized blogs for passionately driven female small business & non-profit leaders.

I’d love to chat with you about your current content marketing strategy as well as how I might be able to help share your message in creative and memorable ways, improving your brand visibility, site traffic, increasing your revenue, and providing you with peace of mind - knowing your business content strategy is in great hands!

Email us at megs@megswrites.com with any questions and we’ll do our best to answer them. Who knows you may hear your question covered in a future episode.
