Choosing a blog niche is not as easy as it may seem. Then again, it's a must.

But is it really? Why not just publish content about anything and everything that comes to mind?

Well, you can upload different articles you wish to share with an audience. However, that's not a good idea if you want to build something more than a hobby site.

I mean, if you want a hobby blog, you can start one on a free blogging platform. It's not going to cost you anything - no hosting fees or something like that.

The thing is, you won't be able to monetize such a blog. The free hosting platforms have very limited monetization options.

In other words, forget about ever making any money blogging this way!

Speaking of earning online through a website:

Monetizing a brand new blog is a difficult task to tackle. Doing it while your website doesn't have a defined niche would be even more challenging.

Just think about it:

What group of people to attract as readers and potential customers?

Users, who care about make-up or individuals looking for a second job?

See where I'm going with this? I bet you do - how could you not?

It's simple, actually:

If you want to make money blogging and monetize your content, you have to write about a targeted audience. And you can't have that unless your blog works in a specific niche.

Now, how do you choose only one niche if you're a person with many interests?

Like it or not, you'll have to leave most of your passions on hold and pick just one that will be the main topic of your blog.

Here is a good starting point to get your creative and business juices flowing:

To assure your blogging success, you need a popular idea plus high-quality content.

Thinking about that might take some time. Meanwhile, have a look at a simple blueprint that will help you choose a kick-ass blog niche:

1) Ask Yourself A Couple Of Questions - for example, what do you like to do in your spare time? Furthermore, is there a topic you can talk about for ages? Plus, in what area do you have some knowledge and expertise? Write the answers down.

2) Narrow Your Ideas Down To One Main Topic - no matter what, your blog topic has to be popular enough to attract a large audience. Feel free to use Google Trends, Buzzsumo, and Quora to gather some inspiration and data.

3) Make A Final Decision - once you do your research, you'll have an easier time picking a niche. Again, make sure your main topic doesn't cover subjects that have nothing in common!

Do you still doubt the importance of having a niche?

Maybe you should see all the benefits of owning a niche website:

1) Niche Websites Rank Easier Online - once you let Google know what your blog is about, the search engine will make it easier for your pages to get traffic.

2) Niche Blog Will Speed Up Your Development As A Blogger - and will let everyone know that you're an expert in your chosen field!

3) Niche Site Will Help You Make Money Blogging Faster - it all goes back to finding your target audience. When you know who you're selling to, the selling part becomes a no-brainer.

Do you still have questions about picking your main blog topic?
