Hard Working or Hardly Working?

As states start to roll back phases of quarantine, and families are beginning the school year with remote learning, it may be hard to work from home.

Certain types of businesses are finding it hard to work in these remote environments. For example, is producing more plays, one acts and ensemble that are by everyday people, like you and me. These works are easier to produce virtually which is what a lot of local companies are doing.

Other companies such as Amazon, are not having much luck with most of their workers working from home. are in the warehouses, or delivering packages, because let's face it, we are all over spending online.

Teachers, this year are being faced with having to teach remote learning, while working parents are being faced with having to aid their children while simultaneously working. 2020 is throwing a major curve ball to everyone this year.

Here are eight simple tips to be productive while working from home:

1. Create a space that is to be used for work.

This space can be an office with a fancy desk, filing cabinet and other must haves. Or it could be as simple as a set up at the dining room table. Whatever , make sure that space is used for your work.

2. Do not do any work from your bed or couch!

I get wanting to be comfortable while you work, Ido, but a dangerous game to play working from laying in bed or on the couch. You may start to get tired, distracted and unmotivated. Do not be victim to that comfy bed!

3. Create a schedule.

This schedule will be dedicated for your breaks, deadlines, etc. By having a little flexibility in your schedule, it gives you the autonomy you may have been missing from in-person work. Make sure you set aside a little time, for you.

4. Get a little natural light in your space.

It sounds funny, I know. But vitamin D has so benefits, it wouldn't make sense to not get some much-needed sunshine to keep yourself in a good head space.

5. Get a good night's sleep.

With quarantine dragging on and on, its normal for your anxiety to heighten and create stress. Remember to practice good sleeping habits. Whether that be taking a little , doing yoga, or reading before bed. Whatever you need to do to get a good night's sleep, do it.

6. Fuel your body with nutritional food.

This may sound like a no , like get a good night's sleep, but eat something that's good for you! If you fill your body with good food, you'll be less to munch on junk.

7. Make sure those around understand you are still working!

It may seem like something that could go unsaid, but making sure your friends and family understands that you are working and on company time can help decrease distractions.

8. Get a change of scenery!

Since your home is now where you work, make sure to get out of the house. Take a walk, sit outside, go to the store, recharge your batteries with a new spot before you come home and do it all over again.

important that we all give ourselves some credit. We are experiencing something we never have before. For , this is the first time we are working from home. Remember to be kind.

Stay happy and healthy.
