Have you ever felt that one day you are writing well and, on another day, you do not feel like writing?

Have you also felt that one day you are inspired and, on another day, you don’t seem to have any inspiration?

To be consistent in our daily writing, we need to be motivated and have effective time management. Here are some personal tips that I find helpful, and I’m sure you could use them also.

Here are five tips we can all consider:

1. Set a clear writing goal

Not everyone can write daily, but everyone can be consistent in some ways. For example, if you can commit to writing two articles weekly, I’m sure you can maintain that pace for a long time.

Most of us, as writers, are still doing another full-time job with nothing to do with writing. Hence writing is like a hobby or pursuit in our free time.

We must remember that to grow our influence as a writer, we need to have a group of readers who enjoy our writing and sharing style. They will look forward to reading what we are going to write.

How will they feel if they cannot see any new articles from us for a long time?

I guess you will know the answer. It is always good to be consistent so that we are constantly in touch with our readers.

2. Do not think that your readers are not interested

I find this thought very unhelpful, which I often have. It is like operating a law of expectation, where we expect our writings not to be welcomed by our readers. What if we change our outlook on this? That we hope our readers to be eagerly waiting to read our next article. Would that not motivate you to write?

Changing our mindset to think that our followers are eagerly waiting to read what we have to write and share will give us a lot of motivation to write better and better. That is why I decided to write this article, by the way.

3. Eliminate distractions

We have time to do the most essential thing in our day, but we probably not be able to do everything we want to do in a day.

Look at someone who is very engaged in computer games. They will not forget to play another round of the game every day.

Look at someone who loves their pets. They will spend time with their pets each day.

Likewise, if you love writing, you will devote some time to write a little each day. Like a committed Youtuber will always produce another video, they stay focused and devoted to the task.

Spend less time on other things that distract us from writing, and we certainly will have time to write.

4. Find some inspiration from anywhere and everywhere

Sometimes, I woke up in the morning with a topic I like to discuss in my writing. Sometimes, I thought of a subject to write before I fell asleep.

If you can sleep well and have dreams, you can already write a story of your dream. If you cannot sleep, why not share your difficulty with sleeping?

See my point? Subjects are anywhere and everywhere. It is just a thought away.

If we say we have no inspiration, maybe we mean we do not have some unique topic to write about. Frankly, some of my articles which my readers liked were what I perceived as an useless idea to talk about at the point of writing.

Hence I would encourage you to think creatively, that your readers are waiting to read your next article.

5. Write down all your writing ideas

Some days, you may think of several topics or ideas to write about. List them down and write them down somewhere. The worst thing is to have time to write but have forgotten the idea that you initially had.

Like in real estate, where the importance is location, location and location, I believe it would be ideas, ideas and ideas for writers.

If you put in some effort to record your ideas, you will never run out of a topic to write.

Final thoughts

Be consistent in recording all our thoughts. Be consistent in writing whenever we can find some time. Imagine your readers waiting for you to publish your next article, and stay motivated always!
