If you are a lover of reading and want to start wow writing, congratulations, you have just taken a big step towards becoming a writer. Now you have to know what you have to do to pay the bills with your texts, posts, articles, books, or novels.

Whatever you have decided to write, the important thing is that you become an expert in the field. But how to become a writer? Very easy, you must note and read a lot, so that all those ideas that sprout in your head take shape on paper.

This post will help you with some tips to make a living from writing, but don't get overwhelmed. Everything involves a process. If you sit down to write for about 40 minutes a day, you will see that some days you will write 600 words and others 2,000.

If you are worried that inspiration will come every day, that's okay. It's normal, we are not always inspired, and we should not punish ourselves for it. The secret is still consistency. Here are our top 5 tips to become a writer and not give up:

Write and read the general subject matter.

Dedicate time and perseverance

Believe it, and don't be ashamed of it.

Find your audience

Don't censor yourself

Let's expand on each point a little more.

1. Write and read about general topics

Write and read about everything. And not those works that everyone expects you to read like great classics or trendy novels. Read about the topics that interest you personally or professionally.

It is the only way we know that you don't get tired and give up, choose the subject you like, and absolutely nothing happens if you don't change it. Reading feeds our imagination and writing only ends up working with the practice.

2. Dedicate time and perseverance

Dedicate many hours. No writer has become what he or she is today without dedicating many hours to writing, correcting, and starting over from scratch because in the end, what he or she wrote did not convince him or her.

No soccer player reaches the top without practice in any other profession, and no one is a crack in his vocation without having dedicated many hours and effort. So, save time for it, but don't overwhelm yourself. Allow yourself time and days of disconnection.

3. Believe it, and do not be ashamed of it.

Many will be those who will accompany you on this new path, but unfortunately, there will be many others who will encourage you to give up, that it is just a hobby or that writers do not make enough money to live well.

People often associate writing with poverty, and yes, it is right in the short term, but it doesn't have to be for good. Do one thing: combine your current profession with writing until writing allows you to give it up ultimately. You have to trust yourself and go for it.

4. Find your audience

Worry about finding your audience. Those who might be interested in your stories and content. It is always preferable to have 1,000 real followers than 2,000 bought followers or other writers responsible for disseminating your work so that you do it with theirs.

Forget about that. Focus on finding your target audience in social networks and bookstores or department stores where they will see your book.

5. Don't censor yourself

Free your imagination, express your ideas without censorship. Don't make the mistake of thinking that no one will read what you write or if your story is more or less commercial. Just let your imagination run free without self-censoring yourself.

While you are writing, ignore small details such as punctuation, bolding, quotation marks, etc. Once you have it written, let yourself go and make corrections and revisions in-depth, but not before.

So much for our advice so that you can jump into the world of writing without thinking twice because working as a writer is one of the best professions you can choose if you like writing.

I think this advice will give a lot of people who wake to write but think you need a degree or take some other course the confidence to start. Good advice. All you need to do to be a writer is to write.
