How I Stopped Worrying About Battery Life While Vaping

When the UK disposable vape ban came into effect on 1 June 2025, I didn’t just lose access to my favourite disposables — I lost the convenience that came with them. No charging, no thinking, just grab and go.

But the ban forced me to move to pod systems. And honestly, the first few weeks were frustrating.

The biggest issue? Battery life.

Some devices I tested died within hours. Others made it through half a day at best. A few gave me anxiety because I never knew when they’d run out. It felt like I was constantly hunting for a charger — and that completely defeated the purpose of having a portable device.

The SKE Crystal Plus also had a battery indicator, though it wasn’t as precise. The Elf Bar Elfa only had a basic light — green for full, red for low — which felt a bit outdated.

What I Finally Settled On

After weeks of testing, I realised that battery life isn’t just about the number of mAh. It’s about:

• Whether the device fits your daily routine

For me, the Hayati Pro Max Plus checked all those boxes. It wasn’t the flashiest device, but it was the most reliable. The battery lasted all day, charged fast, and I never had to guess how much juice was left.

The SKE Crystal Plus was a solid backup — reliable, efficient, and well-built. And the Elf Bar Elfa worked fine, but the inconsistent battery life made it less ideal for daily use.

Everyone’s different, though. Some people don’t mind charging twice a day. Others prefer smaller batteries for lighter use. What matters is finding what works for your lifestyle.

For me, that meant prioritising battery life above almost everything else. And once I did, vaping became stress-free again.
