Pat Patel is an Indian-American businessman and philanthropist named Ganpat Iswarbhai Patel. He founded Cherokee International and served as its president and CEO until his retirement in 2004. Patel is the President and Patron-in-Chief of Ganpat University, which is located in North Gujarat's Mehsana district.

Pat Patel worked in engineering for a long time, first at Lockheed Martin and later at Borroughs Corp., before founding Cherokee International in Tustin in 1978. Patel, an Indian native, enrolled at Cal Poly Pomona in the late 1960s to pursue a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering and instrumentation, a relatively new field at the time. In 1973, he graduated from UCLA with a master's degree in electrical engineering.

Ganpatbhai Patel and Manjulaben Patel do social upliftment through education in which their personal friend Kashiram Patel and his wife Kantaben have donated Rs. 5 crore to Ganpat University for the establishment of Gujarat Government Recognized Agriculture College. The Kantaben Kashiram Patel Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Research has been established through this donation. In which students will get the facility of state-of-the-art and advanced technology for study and a fully equipped classroom as well as a laboratory equipped with imported equipment. The established agriculture college will be different and superior to any other private agriculture college in the whole of Gujarat which will benefit all the students of Gujarat state and country.

Born on July 1, 1936 in Palasar village, Kashirambhai was educated till matriculation in a village in North Gujarat. Kashirambhai, the smartest student in his class, passed the then (old) matriculation examination with distinction. During his higher education he also received National Merit and Diamond Jubilee Scholarships. After graduation, Kashirambhai chose to work as a basic teacher in the Tribhuvan Vidyalaya of Lanwani. He worked as a teacher there until he moved to the United States in 1977. The family of five members includes his wife Kantaben Patel, daughter Kumudben and two sons Sharishbhai and Pareshbhai. He first worked as a lab technician in the United States, then was promoted to chemist, which is how he worked for nine years. He then joined Alpha Plating as a partner in 1992 and formed two other companies. He has so far donated a total of one crore rupees for various development works of schools in Palasar, Lanwa and Dhinoj villages and for setting up of an ITI institute in Lanwa. Kantaben and Kashirambhai Patel established the Kantaben Kashiram Janseva Trust in India. His children also give full cooperation in the services of Kantaben and Kashirambhai.

Ganpatbhai Patel, the president of the university, seeing the service rendered by this organization without the intention of gaining any kind of material, economic or political benefit, he was also persuaded to donate to this organization. The President of the University Ganpatbhai Patel and other members also thanked him for accepting the donation. Students studying at Kantaben & Kashiram Institute of Agricultural Sciences and Research will learn about new tools, methods, experiments used globally in agriculture. In addition, a 300 acre campus of the university has already been set up by the Government of India recognized Krushi Vignyan Kendra. The surrounding farmers are introduced to various farming technologies through research and extension activities related to agriculture. At present, about twelve thousand trees have been planted in the micro-forest area of ​​four thousand square meters in the campus. Various fruits, vegetables, grains, flowers etc. have been cultivated in the cultivable land of the campus for years and nurseries and greenhouses have also been set up in the campus.
