Losing a special person must be one of life’s unnecessary things. One minute you are grateful for their presence and the next minute you are trying to live without them.

They would tell you that It gets better but that is a big fat lie.

I’m not saying it would not get better but, you would have to go through a tough time before it gets better.

Those days after their death would be the worst days of your life.

No one would tell you this because everyone is an optimist, always trying to look for the rainbow after the storm.

I am not them and I want you to know that the storm would definitely come and you shouldn’t look out for the rainbow but the storm.

Are you reading the right book?

If you lost someone dear to you, yes.

If the person sitting next to you in the classroom or office died recently, yes.

Why should you read this piece?

Isn’t it obvious? You are stuck in a place you do not wish to be because you can’t accept the fact that you will never see that person until you die and make it to the afterlife.

You may visit a therapist and lie on her couch every Thursday, she would offer you tissues and listen to you cry and talk about how you wish that he was there right now, how you have so many things to say to her before she died and whatnot.

I know that your therapist would tell you the same thing every session “You need to accept their death and move on, they would want you to do that”

THERE

That is the problem

How do you know that

Are you psyche or something? Did they tell you that they want me to forget them and move on?

If I was in the afterlife, I wouldn’t want anyone to move on and forget me.

We spent years together and I packed my bags and left for good without prior notice and you want to forget about me like I did not exist in the first place………Bitch, I would come down from the afterlife and haunt your nonchalant ass.

Forget about me

Do you want that?

Yes, they have to move on but moving on means that they would wrap everything about you and toss it in a bin that would be tossed into a LAWMA truck and sent to God knows where.

Every time you are asked to move on, it simply means - forget about it and never look back.

That is cruel.

No one wants to be forgotten that way.

They only want you to live.

What does this mean?

I am gone and it hurts to live without me, I do not want you to forget me but I also want you to not sit in a spot and think about me all day which would lead to depression and other mental issues, what I want is for you to live better and smile more. I want you to remember me and smile, talk about me, and smile and move on with your life like I am there with you but you know that I am not.

That is all they ask for (I can't speak to the dead. I am only saying what I want to say if I were a ghost).

In simpler words, get over grief in your way. Don't try to follow whatever they whisper in your ears, don't burn pictures, and delete beautiful memory clips to forget faster. This would only hurt you more.
