Unwinding in words
I’ve let him break me down when I told myself not.
I’ve questioned my logic from all the lies spoke
I’ve been open and honest yet still distance remains
I’ve build resentment on top of his resentment but why
I’ve let the hurt creep in when I should have stood ground
I’ve gave to many inches and nearly ran out of rope.
I’ve open my heart fully giving birth to even greater love
I’ve given nothing but love to this precious son yet still you waver
I’ve asked and pleaded and away you went
I’ve waited yet have been made to feel a fool
I’ve penciled in time and you were just a no show.
I’ve stayed when all know I should go.

An escape is important part of finding happiness in a troubled home. There wasnt much in the 80’s for a child to do other than drive into a book filled with fantastical creatures and hope for a better future. I would spend hours reading these books with the hopes of being pulled into the story like the tale of The Never Ending Story.

When the Robots Took My Job
This is for RM Stockton's Write Club prompt for the month of April: AI Please allow me to vent. For "college," I went to a scam school that is now closed. We were promised internships that were never spoken of again after admissions, and we were promised help finding jobs. The first time I went to the career counselor's office, she was completely frazzled. She had no idea what to do with us, the film majors. The second time I visited her office, I let her know that I'd found myself a job, and she was visibly relieved.
