As a member of the working class and a small business owner I think I speak for quite a few people when I say that waking up early in the morning to fund someone else pockets and dreams is not something that I wish to continue doing for the rest of my life. To think you get up Monday through Friday at 6 and 7am and for some of us even earlier to that to spend 8 or more hours working for someone that would just up and replace you without warning if they wanted to. More than likely you're probably doing something that you don't enjoy doing and can't see yourself doing for the next 5 years. It is at that point where you decide to take that leap of faith and take your first into entrepreneurship.

All on social media you see all these pictures and videos of people who have completely glamorized entrepreneurship. YouTube has tons of videos stating how easy it to start and fund your business with little to no money and for a person that knows absolutely nothing about entrepreneurship and starting a business these videos can be very enticing but from my experience that not of the reality of things and these videos aren't a great place to start. Entrepreneurship is not an easy journey and no one ever talks about the other side of it all.

No one ever gives the keys on what to do or where to start not even the roadblocks you'll face. Here's a few things that you'll come to learn when starting entrepreneurship.

  1. It's Really Expensive So Be Prepared To Spend

Those "Start a Business Under $$" that come on your screen on YouTube or even Instagram are not what they seem. While it may cost less to start the business depending on what you are doing but none of these videos talk about the extra supply expenses for things like logos, customized boxing, and advertisement. Also registration fee can be expensive depending on where you live. This videos only show a glimpse of what entrepreneurs do and are not a good place to start as stated before.

2. You Need To Be Confident

Seeing that your business hasn't grown after awhile can really put a stain on your confident as a entrepreneur and business owner. Sometimes you can go 6 month to a year without any sale or progress it becomes so discouraging that sometimes you really do want to give up. Don't let this stop you although rarely ever talked about believing in yourself and having confidence is a very big part of entrepreneurship. You really have to believe that your business has something to offer the world and it will be hard to get others to believe in you if you don't even believe in yourself.

3. Research

Research is a huge part of entrepreneurship and starting a business. 80% of entrepreneurship and starting a business will most like be research. Learning about the industry that you're catering to and your target market and demographic. Also, learning about logos and what type of logo variant is best fixing for your business. I highly recommend researching and learning about gaining business credit and financial funding through grants and loans if capital for your business if far out of reach.

4. Support

You may have a few supporters but understand that your family and friends are not always going to be your biggest supporters. They are not going to share your content, or your product, and they are not going to speak your name up in rooms of business opportunities. Your biggest supports are going to be complete strangers, people who don't know you or anything about your products or services are going to be the ones who help your business progress.

5. Be Patient With Yourself

Don't rush yourself your business is not going to turn a profit over night. It could be awhile before you see any results so don't be so hard on yourself patience is key.
