Medium is a platform where people can share their creativity to millions of people, medium member can post articles, Sonnet, shayari, Poems, Haikus fictional stories, quotes, pickup lines, listicles; In short, knowledgeable things.

I am writing this article for those who want to earn money through Medium Partner program, This Guidelines will be helpful in order to make real money.

As we all know that you will be get paid by Stripe payment gateway only in Medium partner program, but stripe was not supported in India. Many people invited stripe to come in India. (Honestly I invited 7–8 time since 2017), It was in beta version in 2018 to November 2019.

Let me clear first,

How Medium Partner program works and what you have to do?

By adding valueable your contents, you can earn money, Doesn't it sounds good?

Stripe: Available for following businesses in 39 countries.

Medium only allows user to enroll if they have stripe account, and Bingo… now you can enroll with straight forward way.

Now there is no need to ask your relatives (Out of India) that, can you please help me out with stripe things?

You can do everything by yourself. (Aatma Nirbhar bano guys!)

Go to stripe, create a new account. Enter your bank details and other required information, make it fully activated.

Go to medium.com, login their and go to medium partner program (as shown above in the image) by navigation menu available on click of profile icon. Click on stripe button, it will navigate you there, fill up required details and finish the procedure.

It will navigate you on partner program page. Here you can write some new story, fictions or knowledgeable things. Fill up your tax information, keep your PAN card with you.

Once your story is eligible for payroll, your earnings will be started and so you can start earning.

Woo Hooo… Now you can start writing on Medium. Write whatever you are expert in, interested in, or desire to write about. But the new thing you will be doing this time before publishing your articles is enabling your story to earn money by making it available only for paid members of Medium. This will create magic for you !!!

Update 1–10th December, 2019

Many Indian users are facing some issues with filling up Tax information here.

You need to fill up below tax forms If you are not USA citizen (non-resident aliens).

1. W-8BEN

2. W-8BEN-E

For each field details, you can follow up below links, which will be helpful in order to get verified your Tax Information. Check below link for more information.

In short, If you are an organization then fill up W-8BEN-E form.

If you are individual/ personal entity then fill up W-8BEN form.

After submission, you must get verified your tax information with in a month in order to be get paid from Medium partner program.

Once Stripe is fully activated in next few months you will be able to get paid from Medium.

Update 2–25th April 2020 - People are facing some issue with verifying address and Tax information (Let's make it simpler for now)

Challenges for now: Stripe is still in preview mode (Not in beta - testing mode), and Stripe is not available to verify some of your address details.

What is the solution to cope up enrollment issues with stripe? - Here is the solution

(Disclaimer: Do it at your own risk. Nobody is responsible for anything with your account and what patches you apply to be enrolled with MPP)

This approach will work for sure if you are living in the country where Stripe is in beta mode / not available/ in a preview mode.

What things do you need to sign up and enroll with MPP successfully?

Here are the prerequisites you need before you proceed further:

1) An Approved Payoneer Account :

When you sign up using given link of Payoneer account, Mostly they will approve it in a single day, but sometimes it will take 2 to 3 working days in order to approve your account, also you will get $25 bucks as a rewards if you sign up with this link. Once your account is approved you will be available to get "Global payment option", which will be helpful to create US Virtual bank account.

2) Your own Bank account where you are living in the country. (For Indians, bank account of HDFC, AXIS, SBI, ICICI etc will be OK!)

It is required while creating account on Payoneer, without your local country bank account, you can't signup there successfully.

Follow Up below steps to set up medium partner program

• Go to your Medium, click on your profile icon, and then select the "Medium Partner program" link from the drop-down menu.
• After navigating to another page, scroll down and find "Join Medium Partner Program" button.

• You can click on "I agree with T&C" checkbox and proceed further.
• Click on the "Continue to payout setup" button, it will take you to the next page.
• On next page, select "A Stripe express account" and then click on "Setup payouts on stripe" button, it will take you to the next page "Get paid by Medium".

• Select country as United states - Because your virtual account will be there.
• Type of entity - "Individual, sole proprietor,…"
• Mobile number will be your own - with your country code
• email address will be the one, where you signed up using that email.
• After that, You will receive a code/OTP on your Mobile number which you have to enter into the dashboard.
• Enter 6 digit verification code sent to your mobile phone by the Stripe in order to set up a stripe account on Medium.
• In the next process, you have to enter your Business Name and the website of the business. You can fill out that form through the following method. Enter anything you want, its not much mandatory.

The most important part is the most important while getting into the Medium partner program from countries where the stripe is not available. The biggest problem most writers face while signing in for the Medium partner program is that they don't have a US bank account but the good news is that you could also use a Virtual US Bank account to sign in for the Medium partner program.

This is where your Payoneer account comes into the play.

They will ask for Routing number, Account number - So you can find and provide them from your approved Payoneer account.

How to obtain Payoneer virtual bank account number and routing number?

It's too much easy,

1. Go to your approved Payoneer account.
2. Click on "Receive" option
3. Select the "Global Payment option"
4. Now, you have three bank account. Click on the US Bank account.
5. Boom, you will get a Routing number and account number.
6. Enter it into the steps page.

BingOoooo, you joined the Medium Partner program. This is the end of the first and the second step of MPP screens. You will see something like this,

Now you need to fill up your Tax Information within 28 days in order to get paid from medium
