Candace "The Six Figure Spa Chick" Holyfield

Tammy:

What inspired you to become an entrepreneur and assist over 500 spa owners?

Candace:

I was inspired to become an entrepreneur because I was approaching my 30th birthday and was ready for a career. I was a waitress for 12 years. I was actually going for nursing but the school rep introduced me to massage therapy and the rest is History!!!

Tammy:

Please tell us about the Queen Spa Expo and The Black Spa Magazine?

Candace:

The Spa Queen Expo and Black Spa Magazine were founded to fill in the void for education and spotlight on Black Spa Owners. We are not represented well at the major spa expo or magazines. My expo and magazine proudly spotlights and educates the Black Spa Community so we can scale our spas.

Tammy:

How did the name Six Figure Spa Chick come about?

Candace:

I made my first six figures on Groupon. When thinking of a brand name I knew it had to get people attention.

Tammy:

What does women empowerment mean to you?

Candace:

Women empowerment to me means sharing not only life experiences but attainable knowledge to help women grow on all aspects from personal to businesses. We must show up and daily inspire women that they can live their wildest dreams. We must connect and support one another daily. We must stand strong in unity.

Tammy:

How has the pandemic changed or elevated your business and personal life?

Candace:

The pandemic knocked me off my feet. I quickly regained composure by leveraging my business knowledge. Spas being closed for months, tours/travel halted and losing over $200k was tough. I adapted and started doing zooms educating the spa community weekly on how to survive this. This pandemic shaped me into a digital beast.

Tammy:

What are some obstacles you have overcome in your career which resulted in victory?

Candace:

My biggest obstacle was moving to Atlanta in 2015 with no plan and losing everything including my mind. It’s now a victory because those bad days humbled me to now be more grateful for everything . If I would have never moved to Atlanta I would not own a 7 figure company. Those bad 16 months made me go harder and fight for my dream life in Atlanta. It finally became reality and I’m thankful.

Tammy:

What has been some of the most memorable moments of your career so far?

Candace:

Most memorable moment is getting a proclamation from the city of Atlanta for my community service work and founding the Spa Queen Expo.

Tammy:

What is your current position on the black lives matter movement?

Candace:

I stand proudly in the belief of black lives matter daily!

Tammy:

What all are you currently working on?

Candace:

I’m working on my 5th annual Spa awards and my 3rd Airbnb! I’m getting more focused on real estate plus my trucking company.

Tammy:

What is some advice you have for women who aspire to become an entrepreneur?

Candace:

My advice to entrepreneurs is to legalize your business. Your paperwork needs to be in order to really monetize as a business owner.

Tammy:

What else would you like our readers to know about you and the work that you do?
