A real-life love story

They were two officers from the same fleet but on different vessels. Due to their ships alternating sea-ready duty shifts, they hadn't reunited for half a year.

One day, learning that his wife's ship would cross paths with his at sea, he eagerly awaited on deck with binoculars in hand. As the ships approached each other, he suddenly made a "heart" gesture towards the other side.

Between them lay the vast sea, their love unspoken. Love isn't just about passionate embraces; there's also a kind of love that is about silently waiting.

Guo Yinhuan and Pang Can are both air combat duty sergeants in a certain duty squadron at Beihang University. This Chinese New Year, both chose to remain at their posts, taking on the duty shift for the holiday.

While families across the country celebrated reunion under the glow of thousands of home lights, the couple patrolled the sea and sky aboard the same fighter jet, achieving their own unique form of New Year's reunion.

Wishing to be birds flying wing to wing in the sky, and branches intertwined on the ground, they race shoulder to shoulder across the vast sea and sky. Such love stands tall!

She was in the north of the Bohai Sea, he in the south. Between them lay the entire Bohai Bay. One day, she said, "I'll come to see you." He replied, "Okay."

Due to work, the vacation they planned to meet kept getting postponed. Until that day, at the naval port, he saw a warship approaching from afar. Recognizing the familiar hull number, he knew she had arrived.

Two days later, he set sail, even without a proper farewell.

"I reside at the head of the Yangtze, you at its tail." Perhaps we may never encounter the mythical Monkey King riding his cloud, but the one who crosses oceans on a warship to see you is undoubtedly your shining hero.

Her name is Cheng Jing, a seasoned military enthusiast. She attempted to enlist during her university years but was disqualified due to failing the physical examination. Just when she thought a military life was beyond her reach, Cheng Jing met Li Chunheng.

Later, she left her comfortable job in Wuhan to follow the military to Huludao, thousands of miles away. There, Cheng Jing guarded their small home while using her talent to draw military cartoons, encouraging more people to join, love, and support the military.

"May I be like the stars, you like the moon, shining bright and pure every night." For military personnel, companionship and support are the most tangible needs of love. Striving together in the same direction, all efforts become meaningful.

In March 2013, Zhao Keke was tasked with guarding the safety of a remote mountain bunker. Soon after, his newlywed wife, Liu Junlan, left behind the bustling city life to join Zhao Keke in the mountains, where they together kept watch, patrolled, and stood guard.

Over a decade of perseverance, despite the harsh conditions and at times even a lack of drinking water, Liu Junlan never complained. Together, with love and mutual support, they forged a broad and solid path of happiness in the mountain outpost.

They embody the sentiment that although the southern ridges might not seem ideal, the place where one's heart finds peace is truly home. Conditions may be tough, but with you, life is sweet.

One is an Air Force sergeant stationed in a unit in Beijing, and the other is a Navy sergeant at the Djibouti support base. This cross-military, international romance spans not just nearly ten thousand kilometers but also a five-hour time difference.

However, this "displaced space and time" has not diluted their affection; rather, it has transformed longing into motivation. One stands guard at a post in the Horn of Africa, while the other achieves "excellent" results in organized collective training in the Air Force unit.

"When you ask me when I will return, I have no definite answer; the night rain in Ba Mountains swells the autumn pond. When will we trim the candle at the western window together, and talk about the night rain in Ba Mountains?" There is a kind of love where I am willing to wait for the day we reunite, and then express our longing for each other.
