A Fifth Baby? Jessie James Decker's Request Has Eric Paddling for the Hills
The country singer's hilarious video of her husband fleeing her baby request has the internet in stitches.

Jessie James Decker is sharing husband Eric Decker's hilarious reaction to her wanting a fifth baby. The country singer, 38, has four children with the former NFL wide receiver: Vivianne Rose, 12; Eric "Bubby" Thomas II, 10; Forrest Bradley, 8; and Denver Calloway, 2½. But Jessie appears to be more eager to grow their family than Eric, after she posted a hilarious video of him fleeing the area when she gently floated the idea of another child.
"Texted my husband asking to have another baby," she wrote across the video. The clip showed Eric, 39, relaxing on a deck chair by a lake before looking at the message from Jessie. She then filmed him getting up from his seat before he jokingly paddled away from her in a kayak. Jessie is then heard shouting, "Eric! Come back!" The former Denver Broncos player turned his head over his shoulder and said nothing as he continued rowing.
"I guess that's a maybe? 🙃🤣 #marriedlife #marriage #couples," Jessie captioned the video, which they jointly posted on Instagram on Monday, Aug. 10.
Fans React to the Hilarious Moment
The video quickly went viral, with fans flooding the comments section with laughter and relatable stories. "Made my day😂❤️," one fan wrote on the clip, while another said, "Hahahahhaa my husband, Eric, also acted like this… we're now having our fourth 👀." The relatable nature of the moment struck a chord with many followers, who appreciated the couple's ability to laugh at themselves and share their family dynamics with humor and authenticity.
The Deckers have always been known for their playful banter and candid glimpses into their family life. This video was no exception, showcasing the lighthearted dynamic that has endeared them to fans over the years.
The Decker Family's Journey
The couple met through mutual friends and started dating in 2011. They got engaged a year later and tied the knot in June 2013, before having their first child, Vivianne, in 2014. Over the years, they've grown their family while navigating the demands of Eric's NFL career and Jessie's music career.
Jessie has always been open about the importance of family in her life. In a 2018 interview with Pregnancy & Newborn magazine, she said, "It may sound old-school of me, but being a mom comes first. My personal career and needs are secondary. If anything gets in the way of me being a good mom or wife, I simply say no."
The couple's commitment to each other and their children has been a constant throughout their relationship. From raising their kids in Nashville to supporting each other's careers, they've built a life together that prioritizes family above all else.
A Family That Plays Together
The Decker family recently went on a beach vacation to mark Independence Day, with the proud mom of four sharing a series of snaps from their trip on Instagram. The family smiled at the shore while wearing the U.S. flag colors, red, white, and blue. "American Summers🇺🇸," she captioned her post.
The vacation was a chance for the family to unwind and enjoy quality time together, something Jessie has always emphasized as essential. Whether it's beach trips, holiday celebrations, or everyday moments at home, the Deckers make it a point to create lasting memories as a family.
While Eric's kayak getaway might suggest he's not quite ready for baby number five, Jessie's playful plea has sparked plenty of speculation among fans. The couple has always been open about their family planning, and it's clear that their sense of humor remains intact no matter what the future holds.
For now, the Deckers are focused on enjoying life with their four children and each other. Whether or not a fifth baby is on the horizon, one thing is certain: the Decker household will continue to be filled with love, laughter, and plenty of unforgettable moments.
