Who would have thought?

One stream of income is good, multiple streams of income – now that’s what everyone wishes for.

As a people, it’s very easy to believe that actors and entertainers don’t need more than their day jobs to put food on their tables because we believe that the entertainment industry pays a lot more money than it actually does to our favorite celebrities. In reality, acting is just a job as any other and the money that comes from it comes in direct relation to how many gigs the actor is able to book. In those other times where the actor is not working, what do you think they’re doing? Oh yes, side businesses.

You’d think that if an actress is going to have a side business, it would be something still in entertainment like music or social media influencer, but for the women on this list, that is simply not this case.

Today I’ll be counting down 5 Nollywood Actresses With Very Unusual Side Businesses. Are you ready to jump in? Then let’s go!

1. Mercy Johnson-Okojie

When Mercy Johnson-Okojie isn’t in front of the camera acting or hosting her television show, Mercy’s Menu, the talented actress and mother spends her time marketing and selling a weight loss tea named Mercy Magic that tends to sell out within minutes.

I know, which other actress domestic or international do you know that has a flat tummy tea business as a side hustle, I’ll wait.

2. Lilian Bach

Sensational Nigerian actress Lilian Bach isn’t as active in the entertainment industry as she once was but that doesn’t mean that she still hasn’t been working and cashing in her cheques somehow.

The beautiful actress has a lingerie business by the name of ‘Curiosity Underwears’. Who would have thought that Lilian Bach would be doing what Rihanna is now doing even before Rihanna thought about doing it. Lilian Bach has been selling women’s lingerie for over 9 years now. The store was unfortunately heavily looted and destroyed during protests in the state.

3. Moyo Lawal

Another actress that has a side business you would never guess is none other than talented and beautiful actress, Moyo Lawal who owns and runs a very successful skin care brand named Moyo Lawal Plus or ML Plus for short.

The brand’s Instagram account has over 27,000 followers and they sell products ranging from black soaps to night creams.

4. Belinda Effah

Speaking of unusual, did you have any idea that Nigerian actress Belinda Effah has a food business? Yup! The talented actress has a little food store named Favor-Right Foods where she sells everything from rice to vegetables. Who knew?

5. Chika Ike

Chika Ike is a multi-dimensional actress and business woman and one thing people are always surprised to know is that Chika Ike is a motivational speaker.

Ya, it’s really random. The actress has taken up motivational speaking after the release of her book, ‘Boss Up’.

Since then, she now hosts a motivational show on her YouTube page called ‘Boss Up 101’ where she talks to her fans and people everywhere about tips and tricks they too can use to boss up their own lives.

That’s All.
