An In Depth Guide to Becoming a Creator

Ever Since Vocal.Media was founded in 2016, people have been trying to make buck telling stories and making cheesy clickbait articles. Honestly with just over 400,000 writers on the platform, can you blame us. There is a piece of the pie for everyone if you take the time to grab your share. especially during a global pandemic where most people are still in a quarantine and read articles just to pass the time. In these 5 steps I will show you how to turn your writing from a hobby, to a way to make an extra chunk of change.

1.Post Often

Gary Vaynerchuck once said “If you are not producing 100 pieces of content … every single day you are leaving the greatest opportunity in the world on the table.” The VaynerMedia CEO goes on to say, "The No. 1 thing that binds everybody is that we all need the other person’s attention. Attention is the singular asset." The only way to get that attention is to grab ahold of it. you can do this by creating interesting content and lots of it. Consider Posting at least once a day.

2. Optimize Google SEO

Google SEO or Search Engine Optimization, is a big factor to consider for any Vocal Media writer. Good SEO usage can be difference in an article getting 100 views or an article getting 10,000 views. Some things to consider when writing your story, would be using key words and phrases that make your article show up on the front page of google when you search something. for instance if I described Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson in my story then it would help my SEO chances if I were to say something like The Jumanji actor, or the Baywatch Star etc.

3. Make Good Content

You could post 20 articles a day but people will not read your blog if it isn't interesting. A good rule of thumb whenever it comes to posting, is to take a look at your post before you submit it and think to yourself "Would I want to read this if I didn't write it. They say money talks but it doesn't speak the language of mediocrity.

4.Keep Your Eye On What's Trending

If you want to grow audience for your blog, then you have to put out content that people like. What do people like? Whatever is popular. popularity is key when it comes to creating clickable content. Try to keep up with any and all subjects that you like to write about. Remember after all you are the expert. No one wants to read about uncertainties (Unless we are talking about philosophy.)

5. Find Your Niche

What is your story worth if you have no one to tell it to? The readers, the fans of our writing are our life blood. whether they are helping us pay our bills, or they are giving us the validation we need when we cannot get over the insolent demon they call writers block. The best way to share common ground with your readers is to form a niche. A niche is a particular hobby, interest, or virtue in which you write about. Having a key focus allows people that are interested in a particular subject to have someone to listen to about what they care about. A happy Audience means a growing audience in most cases. Try to think about what subject you are well versed in or that you are passionate about.
