Caffeine, checklists, and self-management apps are a few things that we consider for higher productivity. Though some of these are a productivity booster, others are just a waste of time. So how do high achievers like Warren Buffett, Mel Robbins, and Tony Robbins remain so productive while most of us struggle to get by? Do they have the magic rituals? NO, they just practice healthy working habits.

You can also try to develop a lasting and productive relationship with these healthy habits rather than reaching for another cup of tea. Read below to know what these healthy habits are:

1. A Short Checklist

If you are a person who loves to do work divided by tasks, go for a checklist. However, refrain from making a long one. It will only give you stress and nothing else. Set short but realistic goals. Set no more than 5 daily goals to get your work done efficiently.

In addition, stay away from multi-tasking. In the quest for high productivity, people start multiple tasks at a time. They end up being frustrated, low-focused, and even less productive than normal. Start one task at a time and complete it. Give it a tick mark and then jump to another. In this way, you will keep all your focus on one task. Once you start ticking the tasks, your motivational level will automatically increase.

2. Use The 80-20 Tactic

You cannot be a chef, waiter, and a hotel manager at the same time. I have learned a tactic while working with the carpet cleaning London team. My manager used to give his 20% per project to get 80% out of it. It is called real productivity. You need to give your 20% in the most critical thing and automate the rest 80%. For instance, you need to get a project done in a week. For this, you will give your 20% by hiring the best team, providing training, and setting goals. In the end, you will automatically get 80% from the team you hired.

3. Fuel Up Your Mind and Body

Never jump to work right after waking up. Investment in your brain and body is the most viable tool for long-term productivity. Dedicate the first part of the day to yourself. A morning walk, gym trip, healthy breakfast, yoga, or simple peacetime can recharge your mind for the critical tasks. Set a routine and give time to your well-being. Once your mind is fresh, it will automatically give you the best productivity.

4. Hit the Toughest Tasks First

When you are all set for work, pick up the toughest tasks. Since your energy level is high, you will be able to give your best shot. When you complete the difficult projects first, you will give yourself a tap on the shoulder. This accomplishment will make the next projects easier for you. Thus, you will feel highly motivated when you are done with the critical tasks and left with the easier ones.

5. Push Back All Distractions

Whether it is a corner table discussion or a phone call, a sudden thought or an odd-time hunger attack, learn to get rid of all these distractions. If you are working in an office, never start communicating with time wasters when you are doing your essential projects. Make a distraction list and jot down all the distractions that come to your mind. Get back to them once you are done with your tasks.

6. Work in Bits and Pieces

If you are a productivity lover, you must have heard about the Pomodoro technique. According to this technique, work should be divided into small chunks to increase productivity. No matter how long the project is, divide it into small tasks and allot time to each. Enjoy a snack or call a friend after each task. This will boost your motivation for the next task.

7. Some Unscheduled Breaks

Though you must say "NO" to all your distractions if you are frustrated with a critical project and are suffering from a mental block, enjoy some unscheduled breaks to refresh your mind. Have a short walk or take a nap. All your frustration will flush away, and you will be able to work more productively.

8. Make Life Easier, Automate Things!

There must be a lot of things that are monotonous tasks, but take up a lot of your time. From small bill payments to daily chores, you can automate several things to let your mind stay relaxed. Delegate things, plan everything, and always have an alternate plan for uncertainties.

9. Set Time for Communication

As a professional, you must be getting a lot of emails, messages, and calls. If you are going to attend all of them, your productivity will sink in no time. However, you cannot stay away from communication. Replying to messages and staying social is another requirement of your business. Instead of replying to emails and responding to calls for the whole day, set a particular time. Dedicate this time to your communication and let others know about it. In this way, you will have the rest of the day for the more important work.

10. Manage Energy Smartly

Can you be immensely productive for straight 20 hours a day? Impossible! You can only be productive for a few hours. Smart people learn to manage their energy so that they can be more productive than others. Sleeping late at night and then sitting at the desk early in the morning can never make you productive. Develop a habit of sleeping well, at least for 8 hours a day. Take a good diet and exercise regularly to stay fit.

Wrapping it Up

Developing a healthy routine with little distractions, set goals, automate menial tasks, and motivate yourself with breaks and rewards. Increasing your productivity levels might seem like a daunting task—however, it's just a matter of a few habits. If you get hooked on these healthy working habits, time is not far when you will stand at the top of the success-ladder.

Do not wait for tomorrow; start developing these habits from today and observe a positive change!
