Is Qblacck the next to blow out of Atlanta, Ga? He recently just dropped his first project “ODDXHILD” and is starting to gain a lot of buzz throughout the city, but is it enough for him to make it into stardom? Qblacck is an American Artist from the East Side of Atlanta, Ga. He recently got out of prison in 2020 with hopes to pursue music seriously.

We have been following Qblacck for some time before he became a artist. In 2018, Qblacck, 448 Checc and a couple other rappers ran with a group called “Rags 2 Riches” and were doing shows in clubs throughout Atlanta. We know this via Instagram and actually, attended one of the shows in East Atlanta at The Graveyard. Previously stated via Instagram, Qblacck never took rapping seriously, and he “liked the lifestyle more than actually taking music seriously” and would “rather record and do shows without dropping” anything. Shortly after, Qblacck and Westtside were a musical duo before Qblacck went to prison for two years. After his release he decided to take music seriously and become a solo artist.

Fast Foward two years later in 2022 Qblacck released his debut project “ODDXHILD” without any features. An inside source tells us after his bid he dedicated most of his time to the studio and perfecting his craft for a year straight. Also while interacting with big names, like Lil Wookie and FBG Casino. During the year hiatus, Qblacck found himself in a tough position. He lost his close friend Tana to gun violence, which made him change mentally some would say. His Instagram stories and posts alluded that he was broken after the tragic loss, which resulted in him going to the studio more. A member of ESMG, a group that cosigns Qblacck states; “his unreleased music is timeless, you can feel the pain from his voice. This is makes him unique, different and one of a kind.”

The situation makes me feel bittersweet because some people go through hard times and never come back from it, maybe this isn't the case with Qblacck. In my opinion, the music he has out tells a story. A story of betrayal, hurt, pain, anger, darkness, and no understanding. I believe making music is an outlet for him to express himself, the way many great artist do. The interesting thing about Qblacck is that it isn't in a way where he tries to gain fans or notoriety, its more like his way of healing through the trials and tribulations that he went/goes through. Gaining an image and actually making good music is just a plus from naturally having raw real talent.

I happen to get my hands on a unrealeased interview on Qblacck with an upcoming photography company called WorldWideVisualz. In one part of the interview, Qblacck stated that he, “plans on taking over the industry and touching people with his music.” He also mentioned having a couple of offers but did not go into detail or about what record labels reached out to him. He went on to mention, “ODDXHILD will set the tone and bring supporters and fans that can relate to me and my struggles of depression, suicide, and my failed love life”. He stated a lot of the youth and listeners in his age group will relate to his past and he can help push them further.

In my opinion the young rapper has a long way to go, but so much potential. Can he do it? Maybe, but I will have to wait and see what he becomes. Check out his project “ODDXHILD” on all streaming platforms and let me know what you think.

Stay tuned for more artists on the rise, until next time peace and love.
