Soulcare was born as a result of a personal dream, with the idea of gathering talented musicians all inspired by soul music and Jazz and to enjoy as a band the good music. We also all need a supplement of Soul and to take better care of it with the idea to bring us to a different level and a better place for our heart ❤️ and Soul!

Soulcare is happy to announce a new song release, a cover musically produced by Rodrigo Pahlen. When I Was Your Man (Bruno Mars). Available in all streaming platforms.

“I hope he buys you flowers” - Such a beautiful song from Bruno Mars. Life is so short and we have to make sure to give all the love we have at once to the people we love. Regrets and remorse are feelings belated.

Recorded at Sol de Sants studio with Rodrigo Pahlen at Piano, Antonino Restuccia (Bass), Andrea Amador (cello) and Yann Gaslain (lead vocal).

  • Mix and Mastering: Patricio Petruchelli (Ibiza)
  • Fotos and filming : Fran Echevarria (Aprilstudios)s
  • Thanks to Albert Perez and Johanna Zohler for their great support!
Q&A Interview

Yann Gaslain, lead vocal and manager of Soulcare, took the time to answer mysoundMusic's questions giving some insight into this talented group of musicians and what's in store for 2022.

Q: Tell us a little bit about the musicians that make up Soulcare? Who are the members?

[Yann Gaslain] The lead group of musicians is made of Yann Gaslain lead vocal, Rodrigo Pahlen piano and harmonica, Antonio Restuccia bass, Nico Correa drums and Andreu Zaragoza but is made as well of several permanent other musicians such as Guillermo Calliero trumpet, Johanna Zholer backing vocals, Andrea Amador Cello.

Q: How long have you been creating music together?

[Yann Gaslain] We have been working together since the beginning of the Covid crisis and started recording in studio back in February, 2021.

Q: How would you describe your music style?

[Yann Gaslain] Soulcare music is elegant jazz and soul rhythms that can be both romantic ballad or some arrangement that are more pop or funk depending of the angle we like to give to a song.

Q: 2021 seems to be a creative year for you with eight new singles. Does this have anything to do with the pandemic or just feeling creative?

[Yann Gaslain] Yeah, absolutely, you are absolutely right. The Covid crisis urged me to try to do something different. That is why we created Soulcare. As it speaks for itself, it is a way to try to take care of our soul and heart during this period. Try to bring something to us and others! Building beauty to the universe!

Q: You recently released “When I Was Your Man”. How do you choose the song you will record and release?

[Yann Gaslain] The song is obviously about the separation between people and how regrets a man can have when suddenly he realized he lost everything. There is no anger in this song, sadness and hoping the best for the other while recognizing he could have done better

Q: How has the reaction to your latest release been?

[Yann Gaslain] It is a bit early to say but overall very positive. The song is musically arranged quite differently to the original from Bruno Mars. The Cello brings a lot to the beauty of the moment.

Q: Are there any challenging aspects to creating and/or recording your music?

[Yann Gaslain] We use to work creatively together between Rodrigo Pahlen and Yann Gaslain, selecting the song that match with the spirit of what we want to do in general, it is always songs about love. Various songs are dedicated to the people I love, such as Father and son is made to my son. Once we have prepared the whole song then we rush into the studio to make it all up.

Q: Do you plan to release one song at a time, or do you have plans to work on an Ep or album?

[Yann Gaslain] We have still one song to be released by Dec 31st. Every Breath You Take from Sting and then by Jan 14 we will release the album Hope for a New Beginning which will close the creative work for 2021 and open up for concerts by 2022.

Q: Will you create and record original songs in the future?

[Yann Gaslain] Creating original songs is obviously the main game plan. We have 2 original songs in the current album about to be released.

Hope which was released as a song in Sept 2021 and Jardin de tes yeux released this past November.

Q: What song do fans seem to favor?

[Yann Gaslain] Hope is the song that has collected, so far, the better start with 150 k steams on Spotify.

Q: Which of your songs is, or do you think would be, fun to perform live?

[Yann Gaslain] Definitely Hope and Every Breath You Take as it gathers most of the musicians and on stage might be something magical.

Q: Where have you performed? Do you have any upcoming shows?

[Yann Gaslain] We have performed a concert recently, in November, in Malaga Spain. Upcoming shows will come in springtime as per the release of the album and vinyl.

Q: Share a magical moment or positive experience that has happened during your time together as a group.

[Yann Gaslain] One of the magical moments was when we recorded recently the song « jardin de tes yeux ». Something magical happened in the studio when we recorded the voice of the lead vocal. The intimate scenery in the studio and the sweetness of the song made this moment special.

Q: Would you like to travel to other countries to perform your music? If so, what would be your first stop?

[Yann Gaslain] As a French living in Spain, I would love to soon perform in Paris. The city where I was born.

Q: If you were to add one musician to your group who would it be and why?

[Yann Gaslain] I believe that we are just fine!

Q: If one artist were to perform at your party, who would get the call?

[Yann Gaslain] If I just have a dream, I would love to sing with Paul McCartney, Sting or Michel Jonasz.

Q: Other than fame & fortune, is there something you hope to achieve through music?

[Yann Gaslain] I am looking at enjoying really the music creation, production and performance on stage. Offering music to others and hoping they enjoy it.

Q: How do you feel the Internet has impacted sharing your music?

[Yann Gaslain] It is just amazing how internet offers to spread the music over the world in so many countries and to many people.

Q: What is your favorite/best outlet to connect with your followers Instagram, Spotify, FB, Twitter, iTunes? How would you want them to follow?

[Yann Gaslain] Instagram and Spotify.

Q: Are you currently working on any projects we should look out for?

[Yann Gaslain] 2022 will be dedicated to performing on stage and start composing next album of original songs, in majority.

Q: Is there something you would like to say, that I didn't cover?

[Yann Gaslain] Nope. It was pretty complete.
