Will This Dead Character Return as a Walker On Fear The Walking Dead?

The Season 3 premiere of Fear The Walking Dead aired on AMC to an amazing start. The main group of survivors lead by Madison Clarke made their way to a seemingly safe compound of like-minded people, lead by Jeremiah Otto. Unfortunately, the Clarkes lost a member of their family trying to get to the Otto's compound: Travis.

After escaping the military base run by Troy Otto, Travis and Alicia took off in a helicopter with Troy's brother, Jake. On their voyage to the Otto's compound, someone began shooting at the helicopter. With bullets whirring in from all sides, it came as no surprise to see Travis hit by one. Though, the real shock came when Travis opened up his shirt to reveal his insides having been torn apart by one of the high caliber bullets hitting from below. The scene concluded with Travis opening one of the helicopter doors and falling to his death.

Could Travis Return to Fear The Walking Dead as a Walker?

While it is sad to see Travis go, it may not be the last time we see Travis on Fear The Walking Dead. There's a good chance that Travis's inconclusive departure during the Season 3 premiere was left open-ended, in order for Travis's reanimated body to reappear at some point. The reason Travis's resurgence is possible is because of how characters on both The Walking Dead and Fear The Walking Dead have met mysterious deaths that appeared to close out their arcs on the series permanently, but wound up reappearing as reanimated versions of themselves. Deanna on The Walking Dead returned in that manner, and Celia Flores of Fear The Walking Dead appeared briefly after being locked in with a group of walkers she held captive at the Abigail's home. That said, Travis could return under similar pretenses.

Since Travis's body wasn't buried and he presumably turned into a zombie after falling out of Jake's helicopter, he's likely flailing around somewhere as a reanimated corpse. If that is the case with Travis, it's quite plausible for the Clarkes to encounter a zombified Travis at some point in the near future. Of course, an undead Travis will probably show up at an unexpected moment during Season 3, shocking fans everywhere.

Who knows, perhaps Travis will even wind up biting one of the Clarkes when they do find him. Then again, a zombie Travis would probably be depicted as a flailing mess, since he presumably broke multiple bones on the fall down, meaning he probably won't be in the position to kill anyone. But until we hear of Travis (Cliff Curtis) actually returning, this is merely speculation.
