Very recently, I was on YouTube browsing through many different vids until I stumbled upon this short film, simply known as Wolves. The setting was a bar, which featured a trio of criminals who were approached by a mysterious woman (referred to as "The Elder Woman" in the end credits"), who the trio thought was begging for money. Amador, the defacto leader of the triumvirate, offered to give the woman a coin (claiming that it could tell the future) in exchange for a good story. With that offer, the woman sat at the table and told her tale.

The woman's tale centered on a young woman who wanted to run with a group of wolves. She was enthused by them, and longed to be with them, but her mother wasn't having any of it. The mother did all she could to keep her from running off with the wolves, but at some point, not wanting to see her daughter suffer any longer, she released her. The young woman approached the wolves and voiced her desire to run with them, but she was told it would come with a price: her life.

The wolves killed the young woman, and the mother was left so distraught to the point of outright madness. As the story went, the mother believed that she heard the wolves howling, but it was only the pain in her heart. She listened to the howling and answered the call, and right at that moment, she started growing claws on her hands, which were meant to tear through flesh. The mother also sprouted fangs, meant to kill, and she also had ominous wolf eyes, which she used to seek out the "wolves" and kill them. However, the wolves were simply a group of men, and after the story was over, Amador gave the coin to the woman, who asked if it could really tell the future. The elder woman was also asked if she found a happy ending. Her answer:

"For wolves, there never is...mijo."

The woman's answer was followed by a sinister smile as she suddenly flashed her wolf eyes at the trio, revealing that she was the villainous wolfwoman in her story. Wolves was released on February 1, 2023, and the film starred Graciela Patiño as the unnamed and evil Elder Woman. This was a very awesome short film with an absolutely amazing villainess in the form of Patiño's enigmatic character. I pretty much knew that the Elder Woman would be the werewolf in this whole story, and she didn't disappoint. I did enjoy Patiño acting out her character's transformation, especially her claws coming out, as it showed the woman's maniacal anguish and vengeance. The woman's fangs and wolf eyes emerging was also portrayed very well, as we see Patiño portray her character fully embracing her maniacal demeanor.

Finally, there's the Elder Woman's heel turn at the film's eleventh hour; the wolf eyes, the sadistic smile, all of it. That was amazing acting from Patiño, as that reveal briefly introduced us to the woman's sinister side; an aura of insanity and viciousness all in a split second. The entire film was amazing, I loved all of it, and the best attribute was Graciela Patiño's stellar acting and her deliciously villainous character. And I have to include this behind the scenes pic of Patiño; very fierce and epic shot of Patiño flashing the fangs.
