Vacation Like This-Ghost Story

The quaint bed and breakfast nestled in the rolling hills of Vermont was the perfect destination for Samantha and her husband, Jack. They had been looking forward to this vacation for months, eager to escape the hustle and bustle of city life and soak in the natural beauty of the countryside.

The inn was run by an older couple, Frank and Millie, who had lived in the area for decades. They greeted Samantha and Jack warmly, showing them to their cozy room and offering them freshly baked cookies and hot tea.

As they settled in for the night, Samantha couldn't help but feel a sense of unease. There was something strange about the inn, something she couldn't quite put her finger on. But she dismissed her feelings as nerves from being in a new place and snuggled up to Jack, ready for a good night's sleep.

However, as the night wore on, Samantha found it difficult to rest. She kept hearing strange noises, like footsteps and whispers, coming from the hallway outside their room. Jack slept soundly beside her, completely oblivious to her anxiety.

Finally, Samantha couldn't take it anymore. She got out of bed and crept towards the door, determined to investigate the source of the noises. As she turned the doorknob, a chill ran down her spine. She could feel a presence in the hallway, something dark and ominous.

Slowly, Samantha pushed the door open and peered out into the darkness. At first, she saw nothing, just the dimly lit hallway and the creaking floorboards beneath her feet. But then, she saw a figure moving towards her. It was a woman, dressed in old-fashioned clothes, with long, flowing hair. Her eyes were black as coal, and her skin was as white as snow.

Samantha stumbled backwards in fear, slamming the door shut and locking it tight. Jack stirred beside her, rubbing his eyes sleepily.

"What's going on?" he asked groggily.

Samantha shook her head, unable to find the words to explain what she had just seen. She lay back down in bed, trying to calm her racing heart.

The next morning, Samantha and Jack went down to breakfast, hoping to put the strange events of the night before behind them. However, as they sat down to eat, they couldn't help but notice that something was off. The other guests at the inn were all staring at them, their eyes wide with fear.

Samantha and Jack exchanged a look, wondering what was going on. Frank and Millie, who usually chatted happily with their guests, seemed distant and preoccupied.

Finally, one of the guests spoke up. "Did you see her?" she asked, her voice trembling.

Samantha and Jack looked at each other, confused. "See who?" Jack asked.

"The ghost," the guest replied. "The one that haunts this place."

Samantha's heart sank. She had hoped that what she had seen the night before was just a figment of her imagination, but now it seemed that the inn was indeed haunted.

The other guests began to share their own stories of encounters with the ghost, a woman who had supposedly died in the inn many years ago. Some had heard her footsteps in the hallway, while others had seen her floating through the rooms.

Samantha and Jack tried to brush it off, but they couldn't shake the feeling of unease that had settled over them. They spent the day exploring the beautiful countryside, trying to distract themselves from the ghostly presence in the inn.

That night, as they settled in for bed, Samantha couldn't help but feel a sense of dread. She knew that they were not alone in
